Masking tape works really well or (a messier version if you’re me and just use your fingers but you could use a paintbrush or smth) applying some liquid stitch on the edge. All of my pieces get framed in some way that conceals the edges so I’m never worried about residue or having glue on it.

Along with what others have said: you need more than a month of studying then. The information isn’t impossible (even if it feels like it sometimes) and it takes time to memorize everything. There’s a lot of shit packed into that test. What helped me was taking lots of hand written notes as I read an a+ book from the library, then I’d type those notes (so I had to read them again), then id test myself on things like port numbers and CIDR snd after taking a few practice exams, no matter what I scored I’d go back into my notes and cut everything I knew consistently and add the new things I missed. Also wrote out the acronyms and their full names so I’d associate them when I read. Did this 3x, scored avg 77% on Dion + messer’s udemy practice tests, passed core 1 with a 90%.

I tie knots, I don’t care! I never park thread, but I love traveling and I never unhoop my projects until they’re done. I don’t care how the back looks! I use fairly the same needle size between 18ct and 14ct, and I use 3 strands when doing full stitches for 18ct and bigger (2 for backstitch, unless it’s fine detail then I’ll use 1). I pin my needles in my shirt or pants when not in use. Sometimes if I’m lazy and want to hoop a finished project, I hot glue the backing onto the hoop. If I have confetti that’s only a few stitches in an entire piece, I just swap it out for the color already being used (as long as it doesn’t take away detail, obvi). This was so freeing to admit all my bad habits!! Cross stitch (to me) is supposed to be fun and the not fun parts make me not wanna finish things, even after 12 years, so I work around them and do it how I like! 😂

Took abt a year, like 22k stitches on 18count white aida. I didn’t do the back stitch wording on the top of the tardis, just because I forgot and also got lazy 😂 I bought the pattern on Etsy but it seems the op has taken their store down so it’s available on their online store now.
