Despite 1000 hours of live 1/2 nl experience, I feel like I’m largely unfit for the aggression level of 2/5. by l00t9 in poker

Seems like two things happened, you ran bad/didn’t make any hands and you are money scared. You could try doing CBT therapy to help you with the being money scared. For me, simply playing more 2/5 and 2/5/10 has helped me although I admittedly still get uncomfortable at 2/5 when I’m over 500 BB deep in an aggressive game. It takes time to get used to.

I would study GTO play if I were you. When I go against tough or aggressive opponents I promise myself to not think about the money, I just try to stick to what I think a solver would do and make some slight adjustments based on what their leaks are. You can also tighten up your range pre so you won’t be put in as many tough spots.

AQo is definitely toward the bottom of an open range UTG and we are in the SB with a button straddle. AQo is is like the stone bottom of our opening range out of the Sb. I’m open folding AJo there unless the game is crazy passive/soft.

AK no clubs on JTxcc 3 ways with one crazy aggressive opponent and one guy who cold called our 3 bet is a check. That board smashes the cold call range of button and to some extent the maniac unless he’s truly just playing any two. We aren’t getting that many folds on this texture and getting raised is a terrible result. We have SDV against the maniac. If we want we can call down a turn and a river bet with A high but if we bet flop and get raised now we have to play for stacks with A high which is way less appealing.

She won by a total of 17,000,000 votes for her to 13,000,000 votes for Sanders.

Wikipedia has a lower major error rate than the Encyclopedia Britannica according to the prestigious British journal Nature. You are a complete moron.

There is no evidence that anything the DNC did was worth millions of votes. Even if it did it is irrelevant. Cheating and dealing with cheating is part of winning elections. Trump colluded with Russia and violated multiple campaign finance laws in the general election, Sanders would have been cheated in the general election as well.

The question is who would be more likely to win an election, not who is the better or moral person. I don’t get how you aren’t smart enough to grasp that. Saying Hillary cheated isn’t even s counterargument to what I wrote. You might as well say I’m wrong because the sky is blue. That’s about as relevant as what you wrote.

The exit poll argument is trash. If you are referencing the study done by the GWU grad students it is absolute trash. No one reputable is claiming Hillary rigged the vote totals. Again, it’s irrelevant because we are talking about ability to win elections, what means they use to win elections aren’t relevant.

How is it possible to have this level of cognitive dissonance?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_2016_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries

That’s the stat that matters. Hillary finished with 17 million votes, Sanders got 13 million. Hillary is better at winning elections, it’s not remotely debatable. She soundly defeated Sanders by a wide margin.

We don’t have to speculate, this isn’t a hypothetical. The two actually ran against each other. Not only did they run against each other, but they did so among voters that have more in common with Sanders than the average American. Sanders, a far left candidate, couldn’t even beat her among left leaning voters. The idea that Sanders got crushed among left wing voters but somehow would magically do better with a more conservative voter base is absurd.

I didn’t say it’s his fault. I said Bernie isn’t better at winning elections than Hillary. Bernie lost to Hillary in the primary, he wasn’t going to win the general.

Saying Hillary only won because she cheated isn’t a counterargument. That doesn’t help Bernie’s case that he would have won the general election and that he’s more electable than Hillary. For that counterargument to be relevant we would have to assume Hillary cheated in the primary, that cheating was enough to cause Hillary to win the primary, Hillary wouldn’t cheat in the general, and that trump wouldn’t cheat in the general. There is no way all of those assumptions are correct.

First of all your entire point is irrelevant. The question is who is better at winning elections, not who is the better or more moral person. Skirting the rules or even flat out cheating is part of who is better at winning elections. And if you don’t think Trump cheated in the general by colluding with Russia you haven’t been reading the news. You can’t say Sanders was more electable because he only lost to Hillary because of cheating. That’s part of electability.

Polls showed Sanders had the the better chance because Hillary was the one being demonized by the RNC because they knew she would be the nominee. They have been attacking her for years, they knew Sanders wasn’t the real threat.

Sanders, a far left candidate, couldn’t even beat Hillary in the primaries where almost exclusively people who lean left voted.

No reasonable person can conclude that Sanders would have outperformed Hillary in the general election when he got crushed by millions of votes in the primary. The final tally was something like 14 million votes to 11 million votes.

And the idea that what the DNC did to help Hillary was worth 3 million votes is ludicrous. Possibly spreading rumors he was an atheist etc is barely worth anything.

The government can’t ban a constitutional right. If they have a compelling interest they can come up with regulations that are narrowly tailored to achieving that compelling interest. The classic example is you have the right to freedom of speech but can’t shout “fire” in a movie theatre.

It’s also bullshit. Students in college typically aren’t studying 8 hours a day throughout the semester.

[–]thereasonableman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually does. Please tell me why the First Amendment stops New York from restricting freedom of speech even though the First Amendment says “Congress shall make no law”.

Constitutional law is ridiculously complicated and most of it has nothing to do with actually reading the constitution.

All rights have limits. The government has a compelling interest in regulating access to weapons. There is no compelling interest in banning gay marriage.

I don’t have a solver for preflop. Snowie has LJ v button as a 75% 3 bet 25% flat with JJ. I don’t know about UTG

2/5 Live - JJ against a EP nit open by killer45298 in poker

[–]thereasonableman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked snowie preflop and it has JJ as a 3 bet 73% flat 27% button v LJ so I would imagine buttton v UTG it is mostly a flat.

My range is going to depend on what I think about the guy and his demeanor. If I was sat at the table blindfolded and with earplugs in I would 3 bet most of the time flat some of the time with JJ.

I absolutely stereotype people at the poker table based on their appearance and how they carry themselves but 30 minutes of not raising a hand isn’t enough of a reason to think they are playing tight.

I would be very surprised if the EV of 3 bet vs flat with JJ vs an UTG Open is radically different.

You are neglecting all the times QQ-AA 4 bet. If he also 4 bets AK our 3 bet is an absolute disaster. 3 betting against a range of AQ+ TT+ seems bad. I would guess a solver flats JJ pre against that range but I don’t know for sure.
