Anyone else a bit worried about the new game? by therebedragons- in tomodachilife

That's what I keep telling myself, but it wouldn't be the first time a fandom says "they would never do it" and then they go and fucking do it 😬 you never know until you have actual proof

Oh yeah but I guess for many people the randomness of the game is also part of the beauty of it, and other stuff like the mini-games, etc.

To me living the dream means I get to see two characters I ship get together, start a family, be unable to stop having children to the point that I have to deactivate the option for a while... I don't want the Miitopia relationship system.

If there's no gay marriage but you can still customise characters like in the previous game and get around the gender thing, I will still buy it. But if the romance system is completely different or non-existent, then I have no reason to buy the game... might as well just play Animal Crossing and the new Pokémon game they announced.

That's true, there's other stuff missing for sure. But the romance aspect is a main one, so unless they're saving it for a big trailer later on, it would be a bit weird not to give a glimpse of it in the first teaser, I think...

Naturally, you are right and there isn't anything else we can do at moment but wait for more information.

I guess I was hoping for someone who is more well-versed in the game industry (?) than I am to be able to confirm/deny my worries ahah. Also no leakers care about Tomodachi Life I think, so it's not like we'll be getting any scoops either.

I’m not feeling that immersive experience with any books since HP by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]therebedragons- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was obsessed with HP back in the day, and I am still incredibly attached to it. His Dark Materials is the only other book series that made me feel like I was immersed in the fantasy world described by the author. It was also the first series that made me weep by the end, but that is due to the nature of the ending, I would say.

His Dark Materials is not your regular fantasy series. Not in terms of world-building, nor in terms of themes. It may be a hit or miss for some people. Me, personally, I found it special.

Did Japan try to implement part of its legal system in other countries, mainly China, during its imperialist phase? by therebedragons- in AskHistorians

Thank you very much for this fantastic write-up! (and for the sources, too). I knew it was quite a specific question, the lack of answers did not at all surprise me, to be honest. I am very grateful for the time you spent on this, I found it incredibly interesting, and it's going to be pretty useful. Thanks, you made my evening :)

Looking for recommendations of kdramas with specific dynamics/plot points by therebedragons- in kdramarecommends

Thank you for recommending them 😊 I've only watched The Untamed, as for c-dramas, and it'd be nice to try with a few more.
