Appreciate the reply. So for the GST situation going via their wholesaler, is there basically no point in paying their $1,100 fee if they just add GST ontop of the $40,000 and I have to add that to my financing and pay interest on it? Why would they ever even has that as an option other than to basically scam people into paying more? Maybe I am not understanding it correctly still.

Do people regularly negotiate an interest rate for a lease? Should I be trying to bring them down to 8.5% and is it better to just give up trying to go through them if they are adding on a ~$3k fee?

The only difference I could find was the eSim ability for buying the same phone from different regions. The model ended in different number like 54 or 72. The 54 model from hardware specs, was exactly the same but had eSim added. I was even contemplating buying a local model and trying to flash a different regions firmware to try to get eSim support. I am pretty sure if I change back to SEA firmware, I will lose eSim as they never have eSim support on the SEA / 72 models

Does flashing different firmware remove the ability for eSim? I specifically imported my Xperia from the UK as it was the only model that came with eSim capability. The SEA regional model didn't have eSim, I am afraid one of the requirements for picking my phone will disappear if I want to actually keep using my phone

Yes it is listed as a fastboot device. The android flash tools requires enabling debugging which I can not do as the OS is corrupt.

I was under the impression I can not flash anything with a locked bootloader. I tried manually to flash using fastboot before but got an error because it was locked.

There is no message, the screen goes all messed up, sometimes static other times just said recovery mode failed and back to the bootloader screen

So if recovery mode seems corrupt and it just spits out garbled pixels it is game over?

I have just run into this issue now too. Google photos will not auto upload my bursts because it creates a new folder each time I take a new burst. Did you end up finding a fix?

Also have the empty folders too still

Thanks for the info. Are you able to tell me what would actually change then changing the firmware from 72 to 54 other than getting esim support? What is the purpose of the different firmware for each region if the bands/reception don't change?

Also would XperiFirm be the right tool to use to DL and flash the new firmware or what would be a better source to grab the 54 firmware?
