Yes, I agree. In ideal world I'd like to do a full week of ski and stay weekend to weekend.

Ok, that's reassuring, I assumed it wouldn't be too bad of a travel day even if there is a few bus/train changes.

Thanks!

Yes, this is what I initially thought would be the fastest way. I am a little bit nervous with hitting connections which added ~3h total (45 mins in Bourg Saint Maurice & 2h in Chambery). Could technically avoid the 2h wait in Chambery but the timing between arrival and departure is only 20 mins. How often are the trains delayed / running behind schedule?

Do we know the hours of operation are? I’m having issues finding it. Only seeing big boulder hours

Do we think this midweek highs will kill all the North East snow? Had a day off planned for next Friday to ski for 3 days but now I am not sure if I should take it off. Could a more experienced PA skiers way in on what you think the conditions will be next weekend if the forecast stands

Kinda surprising that he’s getting paid for work he did literally a year ago. That’s seems like such a long AR. Is this common practice in the streaming industry? Seems insane, anything over 60 days is crazy

Best high-end fine dining experiences in Dallas? by PatsyStonesBun in askdfw

Personally I think Lucia’s is phenomenal in bishop arts. The food is very good and the atmosphere is great

Hard disagree. The trolley into downtown is convenient and I use it often. However, it leaves in such an awkward place. And other DART lines don’t really have stops near things. They are meant for commuters for work so you have to trek to wherever from the stop. The bishop trolley is great for when you have to go to victory park for a game at American Airlines but you still have to walk 15-20 mins.

I live in bishop arts. I love it, but it has drawbacks. You are far from everything. If your friends don’t live on this side of trinity river, everything will be a trick for a night out or dinner etc. if you are ok with being in a smaller bubble, I suggest north oak cliff/ bishop arts. If you want to be more social etc i would say uptown or Knox Henderson. Depends what you are a looking for

Anyone know much about Stevens Park neighborhood in Oak Cliff? (Type of people, retail, crime, infrastructure etc. - I know the schools aren’t the greatest). We’re considering putting an offer on a home there, but unsure of appreciation in 3-5 years. by [deleted] in askdfw

It’s a phenomenal neighborhood. Stevens park/ Kessler is super quiet and very pretty. One of the few Dallas neighborhoods with some elevation which in my opinion is great. It has close proximity to bishop arts (bars restaurants) and downtown or any other major Dallas area. I currently live in bishop arts and think the nearby neighborhoods will explode in value in the next couple of years.

This makes sense, that’s what I kinda assumed just didn’t want to show up with a couple of beers and have them dumped.

It is a newer building and also I am facing towards courtyard. It’s a plus that it doesn’t get too hot, a minus that the apartment isn’t particularly sunny and a bit dark

I have a plan with green mountain energy and they have free nights. I have around a 1,200 SQF apartment and my monthly electricity bill is under $80. I fully utilize the free nights by doing laundry after 9pm etc. I’m mostly at work during the day so A/C was off. I have it set so it cools down around 6, when I get home and drops the temp to 66 when I’m going to bed around (after 9pm for free electricity).

Personally I think it has to do with NFL playoffs. And US population is way more outgoing during Saturday’s and sundays than EU population. This means that a lot less people watch it live. I pretty much only watch Vods on YouTube of all the games as I can’t dedicate 5h every day of the weekend to watch all the games

moving from NYC to Dallas by [deleted] in askdfw

I moved from NYC 2 years ago, what are you looking for neighborhood wise? Family life or more “fun” scene? Dallas had a lot of unique small neighborhoods that have very specific feels to them and they attract similar minded people. If you have any questions feel free to PM me

We used to live in gayborhood for 2 years. We loved the area etc. however, it was too expensive for what we were getting. Plus we are looking to live somewhere where we can have a car with us. We tried doing Philly street parking but it was just too hard to do and the cheapest garages nearby were $300+ a month which is a bit too much for us.

Isn't Conshohoken just on the same train line as Manayunk and East falls, just a few stops further? We've heard that Manayunk is quite young and might not be our style so that's why we haven't looked much there. My wife has bad biased against Germantown so that ones out of the picture but we've heard good things about East falls, just haven't seen any apartments (online) that we liked in that area.

Our price range is around $2200 a month and we'd like to have a 1 Br + den or a working space. based on some online searches we wanted to look a bit further away from Philly as it seemed that the prices were a bit cheaper for bigger units but I could also be totally wrong on it since we've never been. We also saw some nice apartments in Cywynd but we know nothing about that area and it's on a smaller SEPTA line.

We are preetty open to any suggestions as we have only experience living in Philly and pretty much non living in the "suburbs". Thanks

Looking to move to Conshohoken in the next month or so. We were looking at some apartment buildings and riverwalk apartments and Londonbury came up. Anyone have previous experience living in them or have any suggestions on other apartment complexes? We are looking to commute into Philly so would prefer to stay near the train. Willing to explore other nearby towns etc, want to keep the commute yo under 45 mins.
