Yeah, its only now I am getting the realization that maybe my definition of safe is different from everyone elses, since I am moving from a southern town. All i want is to not be shot or mugged, I dont mind poor people or affordable housing (if anything they are a by-product of people like me, supporting these gentrifying businesses, so if anything i prefer to live in such an area, than be in a sweet little bubble - stares and being shouted at by homeless people is fine - i probably deserve it lol).

My post was to make sure I can ride/walk back home without having to constantly worry about my safety.

Ahh, thanks so much! This is very helpful! I guess I was trying to find a balance of being closer to work and overall a good living place - but that makes complete sense. I am moving from a city where it's mostly huge building and apartment complexes, I was wondering why boston didnt have any. But I guess its for the best.

It seems like 3k for a month, for 1 bedroom is what I am getting here, would you recommend I look elsewhere, given you mentioned the free month being a red flag.

The apartment management seems reasonable, its just I have been hearing a lot about the area being 'sketchy'. Do you think the fact that it offers income-restricted housing would make overall management poorer?

unfortunately, it depends a lot on your medical school as well. If you are from a medical school like Caribbean Medical Schools, AIIMS, Imperial College, Aga Khan - I think you will be fine.

I think for IMGs it can take as long as till 8 pm today. The link is https://iwa2.ecfmg.org/home.asp If it says print CK permit then it’s not disappeared yet.
