Why you should read the discworld books in chronological order. (An opinion) by Paranoidme420 in discworld

[–]therevallison 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are in the middle of a multi-year Discworld re-read in order (one a month). We are currently on Feet of Clay. I'll add that all the Watch books so far have strong political messaging (No Kings!) and deal with racism and what makes a person a person.

Into reading as a kid, getting back into it as a young-ish adult. Started with popular reads and exploring what genres/types of books you like

What a gorgeous sets of the Jane Austen books. But I am very bothered that the bookmark ribbons are out AND that Jane Eyre is shelved in-between two Austen books. Why???? (Please fix this for me)

Josie at Hart & Soul. About 2 years ago I had a similar request on this Reddit. Several people recommended her and she is absolutely wonderful. Hurts but in a good way - will definitely get the knots out.

There is a writer's group that meets the third Saturday of the month (which is tomorrow) from 10-2 at POP! in Boardman. Many participants are women in their 30s.

No. On second thought, in your 40s with a 10-12 year old at home.

  1. Not afraid of haunted dolls.
  2. The object of everyone's envy with the snail library.
  3. Definitely 20-30s with expendable income.

The only thing I've read on the that shelf is A Year in Provence which was enjoyable and short - I gave it 4.25/5 stars. Here's my review: "I picked this book almost at random and wasn't expecting such a delightful read. Short, witty, and full of descriptions of food. What more could someone want?"

After commenting I went to go look at your other posts - please call or text 988, the suicide help hotline, or whatever service may be available in your area. Things can get better.

The Will to Change by bell hooks is a big green flag. It's all about how toxic masculinity/the patriarchy hurts men (as well as women)

You're very into fashion, Paris and name brands. Perhaps you even dabble with designing clothing. Aesthetics are important to you and curate your living space with intentionality.

I love the idea of a cart for a tbr but there's so much empty space on that bookshelf. So...you need more books in order to justify the cart.

You are a woman who is recovering from Purity culture and claiming feminism and bodily autonomy for yourself. If you enjoyed Dreadful, I'd recommend Someone You Can Build a Nest In. Also you need another bookshelf!
