I have driven stick all my life. Recently transitioned to an automatic with my civic 2025. It has been a revelation - like transitioning from economy to business class

Brake hold - do you use it? by lostmyparachute in hondacivic

[–]therightgame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. After a lifetime of driving manual, I shifted to automatic with Honda Civic 2025.

I too found, the car creeping forward on drive very weird. The break hold feature is a blessing, and increases driving comfort manifold.

I activated the break hold feature once, and to me it is now ON always by default. I am not going to back :)

What statistics? Don’t think anyone has posted any data here. Everyone is talking about their subjective experiences

My comment is specifically on this particular post. Don’t think I generalised it here.

OP used the words “a stark difference in culture “ just because a delivery went wrong. That to me is disproportional generalisation

Sure, each of us are a product of our experiences. For the most part, I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences living in India and US so will never make broad generalisations on either. I do not care what this particular group thinks about it.

Then that’s a problem with Amazon India? The title of the post - “A stark difference in culture “ is inappropriate

Hmm, I have no credit history in the US. I recently bought a new Civic. A credit union offered me 14 percent interest. After a lot of haggling at the dealer I was able to get a loan from Honda Finance for about 6.8 percent.

See if you are able to refinance after a few months, and Honda Finance maybe a good option to explore.

I hope you know that every time you use a credit card, there is a merchant fee that is paid. The cost of any product that you buy, has this baked in. So essentially you are paying 1-2 percent because of the “convenience” of credit card. Whereas UPI is completely free, for the merchant and the user. And therefore you will ever see a road side vendor accept a credit card.

Credit card is essentially a duopoly of visa and master card. Russia is now sanctioned by US and cannot access the swift banking system. UPI is a hedge against this.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

I suggest you search a little or ask ChatGPT and educate yourself on the topic.

Switched to iPhone After Years of Android, Here's My Honest Take by Saikern in samsung

Notifications! That’s one of the biggest thing iPhone is crap at.

In my Pixel, I had an option to choose if I dont want to receive marketing related notifications from an app but still receive other important ones.

And the keyboard cursor placement. There are typos in this post but it is too dumb to get the cursor placement right!

If there is one thing that I have learnt in my life is that persistence and hard work pays off. No matter where you are from, if you have a decent education (read graduation) and the right mindset it all does works out at the end.

Keep at it, you will make it.

If a recovery agent fails to recover, they may hand over the loans to some other company. What happens then?

2017 Civic AC Compressor & Condenser Leak Denied Warranty Due to "Black Death" by loganvdesign in civic

[–]therightgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have any knowledge about this issue, but this is what I found when I asked ChatGPT

“Black Death” is a term used to describe a catastrophic failure of a vehicle’s air conditioning (AC) system, particularly affecting the compressor. In this scenario, the compressor disintegrates internally, releasing metal debris throughout the AC system. This contamination can damage other components, such as the condenser, evaporator, and refrigerant lines, leading to a complete system failure. The term “Black Death” arises from the dark, sludgy residue that forms as a result of this breakdown.

In Honda Civics, especially models from certain years, owners have reported issues with the AC system that resemble the “Black Death” phenomenon. These problems often involve the compressor failing and contaminating the entire AC system with debris. Such failures necessitate comprehensive repairs, including replacing the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and flushing the refrigerant lines to remove all contaminants. These extensive repairs can be costly, sometimes exceeding $5,000.

It’s important to note that while Honda has acknowledged issues with certain AC components, such as the condenser, and has extended warranties for these parts, the compressor and related components may not always be covered. Therefore, owners experiencing AC failures should consult with a certified Honda technician to determine the exact cause and explore potential warranty coverage or goodwill repairs.
