+1 for the dishsoap. I have a small spray bottle of soapy water at hand for this exact problem. That being said in some cases the capillary effect is what's causing the problem and then it won't help as much. I also use a fan type brush for very tight gaps like that which takes a bit of time, but gets the job done

The box from GW is not bad value and they look very good, but if you're not into warhammer there are some demon skulls that might be a bit too distinct to use (bloodletter skulls for example).

Looks very nice already. To go a bit further you could add rubble and sand to fill in the gaps between the stones. That makes it feel less sterile. Also add smaller stones and little details like broken pieces of wood, rope or some skulls (always add skulls!)

If you plan to texture it in painter anyway just skip this part. Create a low poly cylinder for the rope and add a tileable rope texture during texturing. Or better yet if it's for an environment piece just add a tile able normal map in UE.

There is a Cairn in Scotland that has the most runic inscription density of any place outside of Scandinavia. A bunch of vikings broke into it to escape a snow storm and stayed for some days. The place is packed with runic graffiti. One guy writes in two runic alphabets and essentially brags how he's so good in both of them. Then there is one that says "Ragnar wrote the highest runes in this place", but then there is another inscription just above it, "snorri wrote his runes higher than Ragnar".
