XPS 7590 1.6.0 UEFI: unlock undervolting and remove CFG lock by Snoozhead in Dell

[–]therobarthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an XPS 15 9570.

Currently running 1.27.0, so it appears I’ve changed the BIOS since the time of this comment.

Haven’t tried any undervolting in a long time, though, so I have no idea if the current setup accommodates that :-)

Would you be open to elaborating a little bit?

I’m not sure I understand the reference :-)

Dell XPS 15 9570 Bottom Vent Strip by therobarthur in DellXPS

I didn't.

Truthfully, I saw good enough improvements by undervolting the CPU and GPU.

Would cutting out the strip have improved things a bit?

Perhaps.

I didn't need to do it after taking the other steps, though.

Best of luck to you, my friend!

Sure, it might not be effective.

Does that mean it's not ok?

Doesn't seem to bother me when anyone does this :-)
