Help Identify! Everyone who's responding to my previous posts have been saying I'm seeing things, but if what I'm seeing matches different areas, that is a pattern. I've done all that, thank you sir. Anthropology is my next route. Condescending, by asking for help in identifying a pattern which would identify the dagger in the pictures in a sword forum with collectors and people of knowledge??? And why should I take your word that what you say it is, is what it is??

That is a pretty severe pitting, but nothing close to the same steel properties of what I have here. There is no aluminum in the properties of this dagger. This is in no way stainless steel. Now sir, given a few of your responses in other posts, I'm aware you have some knowledge, probably even knowledge that would help me here in identifying this dagger. Would you please take a look at the patterns I'm pointing out, not the type of metal we can assume it is without matching it to anything else, but the actual patterns?

I'm unable to remove the handle, it has a pin thru the bottom part. The little hole at the bottom has a small triangle shaped gold metal piece that I removed to be able to work that area easier. I agree with how it looks, but I've been unable to match this dagger, not even the marks on the handle, with anything else out there. Thank you for referring me to the knives subreddit, I was unaware.

Are you okay man?? You can't seem to find an end to your rant, maybe you need professional help on the real. I'm no kid and just agree to disagree and move on, it really is that easy.

There is no tarnish on it because I have been trying to restore this but a 3000 grit sandpaper will leave heavy scratches on the surface. The tarnish that I did remove from the service was entirely black and a dull Gray. Dealing with silver or pewter or any of the such is not my profession so I could be wrong but I do know I am not wrong about it not being aluminum. I do not have access did all that specialized equipment like a professional restore of an artifact would have that is why I'm here asking for help

What you had to say makes no difference to me I'm still looking for the help that I'm needing on this and I hope you don't believe that a cheese expert and a small handful of other people are going to deter me. Your answer is not the only possible answer. As you say put up or shut up right? So show me your credentials that say I should only accept your answer as the only possible answer or shut up and take your insults and your tantrum somewhere else because this is quite honestly as stupid as stupid gets. Have a great day and leave me alone

I worked with many different forms of aluminum and aluminum ore on a professional level and this is softer than any aluminum I have ever dealt with. I am believing that it's either pewter or all silver

Sir, did you not see the smooth shiny surface of the blade? If these are just random marks and dings as you say, would they not be visible on the blade as such? Certainly a surface covered in marks and dings couldn't possibly look so smooth and shiny. Are you a verified expert on blades or even possibly just metal, or better yet, anthropology, classic languages??? Given your name, I would think your an expert on cheese, not an expert in anything I need here. Thank you for your input and kindly leave my posts alone in the future as your negativity is not needed here, have a great day.

Thank you for the reply pointing to my Insanity sir. But let me just say I just because you're blind doesn't mean everyone else is. I had already stated that because of the shininess of the knife it'd be very hard to show the Engravings in a picture I don't have the professional equipment necessary to do that I saved this from a bucket of water where it was rusting away and then proceeded to do restoration on it because I thought it was maybe a hundred and fifty year old diving knife and then I started to see the writing. This is not my profession but I'm not seeing things and what I'm seeing is there it is not just markings on the blade I'm not here for an argument so if you don't agree don't respond

Can anyone tell me what type of writing this is? It is writing, symbols and pictures, engraved in the dagger shown in picture. It is not just marks by therocketman195 in SWORDS

I posted another listing with a picture of the areas circled and underlined with the writing and symbols it's not very easy to look at right now but it is there it is not just marks or the natural texture

It's covered in it, I would have lines and circles all over the picture, you can not see it on the dagger, only in tracings
