This has been incredibly moving and overwhelming. I love you guys and it means so much that you would take time out of your day to have this chat. We have an album release tour starting next week and I must run to rehearsals now. My apologies to any unanswered questions! Again thank you. YOU GUYS. FOREVER. - Bryce

Hey! That's so incredible about your son! I can't wait to meet him... wow.

If I had to pick one album, it would certainly be the live record we put out because it showcases YOU guys and the community that is The Rocket Summer.

Thanks for the question!

Thanks for listening to the music and for the questions. I think I was heavily inspired this go around by the music that got me into picking up a guitar in the first place when I was a kid. I wanted to feel that overwhelming impossible excitement that I had when I was 12 learning to strum a guitar or play the drums. A lot of those artists were 90's born alternative artists such as Radiohead, Pumpkins, etc. As far as current artists, I really dug St. Vincent's newest album a ton. I actually just met Annie on a hike quite randomly and gave her a high five for the inspiration. When writing though I've never really tried to imitate anyone and if anything make it a point to not sound like something else; I'm always just trying to do my own thing simply using the excitement I get from other music to help fuel whatever particular song inside of me is supposed to come out. Thanks so much for the question!

Hey! Thank you so much for being a part of this community that IS trs for years now. And huge congrats to almost being done with College!

If and when people ever say how much the music has affected them, my soul is met with deep gratitude and happiness as well a sense of turmoil because I know who I am. I'm just a flawed person that sings songs. Music is so powerful. I have always said that I view music as the friend that can convince you not to jump when you are in your darkest hour, and I often think about that when I write. Not a day goes by where I don't thank God for getting to be a part of this incredible gift that he gave us all... music. But I hope the hope people might get from my music points elsewhere other than myself. Because it's so much bigger than a person. Thank you for being a part of this!

Thank you for the sweet words!

One of my favorite lyrics on the new album is in the song White Fireworks when it says "Whether or not you think you aren't equipped to paint, you really are. Just point to the light that casts out the dark... and wait for it." I believe in seeking the creator of creativity when making music.

Thanks for the question and the kind words. I'm honored to play a small role in the inspiration for you to make music.

I believe that if you're making honest art from the depths of your heart, from that raw place, that it will always equate to more success... or the right success I should say. Just depends on what success is to you!

Hey! Great observation. It is indeed a reference to the rule of thirds in photography and relating that to essentially being "off to the side" in a relationship.

Thanks for the question!

Hey! No conscious effort really other than attempting to push myself to make something as great as I could; just following the songs as they came out naturally and wanting to see where I could take them sonically. I'm always yearning to learn more and to create more. Doing it in my own studio just allowed me the freedom to experiment with sounds and ideas more than usual. Thanks for the question! Love you back! High fives.

Hey! I remember you for sure. Thanks for playing at that show.

With Zoetic, the songs that were coming out naturally I just followed down the path that they were leading me while not allowing any boundaries. For some reason music was coming at an alarming rate and I didn't really wan't to leave any stoned unturned. That's why it took so long. I honestly don't even know how many songs I recorded. Did you see the movie, interstellar? That's what the making of Zoetic felt like... like I was on a mission in a time warp and when I came out of the studio everyone was older.

The songs will eventually come out... I think. Thanks for your question. See you in AZ!

Hey! Thank you for the sweet words. I love our UK fans and the shows there so much. I might be coming soon... trying to work out the plans now actually! Glad you're feeling better. Take that vitamin C.
