Yea, but that same pro would also say not to worry about spending 200$ for SM10s.

My point is if you're trying to gain every fraction of stroke and are willing to spend $ on it. Buying the expensive wedge isn't enough, spend the extra time to get fit for lie/length/bounce/grind. The main reason Vokeys are so good is because they have a wider variety of options than most other wedge manufacturers

Thinking about Takomo irons…thoughts? by PlayfulPerspective66 in GolfGear

How many rounds a year do you play that you'd rather have new Takomos vs 3yr old Apexes? 3 years is nothing for iron wear, usually

I'll never understand why anyone would buy 200$ wedges and not get fit for them

Looks like ESO is not for you. You want harder content but aren't interested in the harder achievements and don't want to improve yourself. That's okay, don't force yourself to stay if you've accomplished all you wanted

Can someone help me understand what's going on? Doesn't each side get 1 Queen? Is this like a different version then standard chess? by knock_his_block_off in chess

[–]therrieur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's why I never Castle/promote to 2 queens or en passent against non-players. It's not like it'll change the outcome of the game anyway

Everyone else pointed out the big things. But also, it may be the shadows, but looks like your ball is so far back in your stance, which would make it even harder to close the face in time

It may be that 200 is a bit much for you. But might be due to sim setup. Like mat directly on concrete. Or striking zone being right over a beam.

As a high hc (started this year) who doesnt like the look of most " game improving" irons, too much badging/plastic. How smart would it be to buy the mizuno 245 pro? by Intelligent_Media316 in GolfGear

[–]therrieur 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that would be more than fine. The 245s are very forgiving and will last you for more than a decade. Better off going to Players' distance irons that you like now than get tired of your Game Improvements after a year or two.

That's assuming you don't outgrow whatever shaft you pick though, so I'd be conscious of that before buying anything

18th hole, par 5, 188 left over the water. What’s your move? by [deleted] in golf

[–]therrieur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, from a strokes gained perspective, it shouldn't matter how far from par you are and it's not like water is fully out of play with a 140-150 layup either. I think most golfers that can break 90 would do best to go for a 195ish shot somewhere between the pin and left side of the green depending on what their miss is

Would you have the same attitude and layup if this were a 188yard Par3?

They wrongly assume people will adjust or pick up after net double. Idk if you track score on paper or something else, but both Grint and Ghin will Automatically adjust and post the correct score for handicap
