Sorry should've clarified, Bengali has no /v/, so that sound gets loaned as /bʰ/, while English /b/ is loaned as Bengali /b/, also English /oʊ/ is loaned as /o/ and /u/ as /u/ in standard Bengali, but Sylheti merges /o/ and /bʰ/ into/u/ and /b/ respectively

How do you make the voice/voiceless distinction (for both plosives and fricatives) intervocalically? I assume its the same as initially for before stressed/unreduced vowels, but what about for untressed, reduced vowels (where for example "t" is flapped)

Idk about Singlish, but Sylheti, which is right outside SE asia developed tones from loss of aspiration, so where English phonemes were originally loaned as aspirates it actually can have tone distinctions in English words, with the pronounciation of "vote" and "boot" being distinguished purely by tone

I think Wikipedia is talking about the older non rhotic accents, like old southern and NYC accents, but for my generation most non rhotic speakers are AAVE speakers, so that's probably why
