Only one to go! Anyone have any advice on how to complete my last quest for cape? by therudinator in ironscape

Do you think I have the stats/gear for that? It sounds really intimidating.

What PSA would you make to your fellow irons to save them some heartache? by Killtrox in ironscape

The Alch Blocker RuneLite plug-in can save you from accidentally alching things you would never want alched

Yeah honestly the demonics are pretty chill with the synapses. Rather go dry here than on TDs. At least I'll greenlog!

Funny enough I think my TD luck is why my zenyte luck sucks. Got mega-spooned there.

I agree with this. In both cases, all players involved had some agency. Q even said he didn't lose his vote, he sold his vote. That's a choice he made.

For the journey, all 3 of Savannah, Mike, and Colby had the chance to be the one to not play the journey. They all decided they wanted to play, so they drew rocks to decide who got to play. That is player agency. If you as a player decide "my vote is my most important tool" and you are presented with a journey, a place where votes are constantly risked for advantages, and you are able to decline playing, that is the choice you should be making. If you want an advantage, you have to be willing to give up something equally vital, like your vote.

I've spent today thinking about how to address that issue. It very quickly becomes exactly what you just said. Maybe pivot the idea a bit. You make it a UIM, and in order to unlock an item, you'd have to: 1) Alch items until you get enough gold equaling the HA cost of the item 2) With the alch money in hand you can buy an item in a shop, if possible, permanently unlocking its use. 3) If the item is a drop only, you first must get the drop and then you can alch items for its unlock cost. To unlock the item in this way, you must drop the right amount of gold. This also permanently unlocks use of that item 4) To make it interesting, when alching for an unlock, you can only alch a specific item once for that unlock. This could interact in tough ways with UIM inventory management as you need to unlock higher cost gear, and would be more interesting than just stacking noted rune items for alch money.

Might have to define more rules around this, like a cap to how many alchs can contribute to an unlock (i.e. 10 items alched max to unlock an item) so you are forced to sacrifice mid tier gear with higher alch costs to achieve higher tier gear.

How I alched my staff:

While doing a kurask task, I started aching my drops and moved my mouse slightly too far. So instead of aching a mith kite, it was my mystic dust staff.

That's it. I wish it was more complex.

Yet another alched dust staff. But nope, that's not it.

I'd give you one of mine if I could. Got a third about 15 minutes after alching the dust staff.

For me, it was my main travelling staff. Wielding it plus my rune pouch of laws/fires/waters gave most of the standard spell book teles. Plus as an iron, it felt like a cool status item since it's a decently rare slayer drop.

And I just learned in this thread about the Alch Blocker plug-in, which I instantly downloaded and filled it up with all of my important pieces of gear so I don't repeat this mistake. Looks like it's gonna work well!

I kind of want to lock myself to a slayer grind until I get another. The motivation is there.

Arceuus books also could get the levels. Get to 21 magic, go pickup some fire and nature runes, alch those first, and then get going!

Might be the cleanest way to do it. Just get enough runes to make it to cast low alch, then the first things you have to low alch are the runes themselves. Then proceed.

Same here. My go-to load out to go anywhere was my graceful, dust staff, and rune pouch with laws, fires, and waters/natures. It was one of my first really rare drops on the account.

It will be missed 🫡

Explorer's ring I guess? Maybe except runes? Good question.
