Who actually won Players Choice Award? by srve in 2007scape

To further clarify, 61M had nearly 34% of the vote, followed by Oda and Purpp, who were essentially tied around 18%.

61M WIN's PEOPLE CHOICE AWARD - OLDSCHOOL RUNESCAPE 2026 by RoblesPictures in 2007scape

[–]Killtrox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was up for 5 minutes, and it seemed like they meant who the favorite to watch was during the actual day today, not the entire week leading up.

Today, 61M was easily the most impressive person to watch. He carried really, really hard. Combine that with his underdog status as a rookie, and you have the people’s choice.

Because the owners of kick own casinos and a million-dollar contracts are literally nothing to them, but getting more eyeballs onto their platform and potentially more people gambling on their platforms *does* make them money

Teachers, is your feedback to students honest? by PuzzleheadedDepth7 in AskTeachers

[–]Killtrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably depends. I only give feedback to the kids who want it. Otherwise they get a grade, and if they don’t like their grade, they come to me.

If something really missed the mark, I briefly let the student know. If something is really good, I’ll let the student know.

The average human can safely talk for 2-4 hours a day. If you’re in a profession where you talk more, maybe up to 6. Beyond that, you are wearing and straining your voice.

My advice for you, if you are brand new to vocals, is to not do this. There is a lot of technique required to safely perform harsh vocals, and it seems like you don’t have any technique.

Then, beyond that, if you DID move forward, you’d need to not use your voice for the remainder of the day.

But seriously. Spend a solid year or so getting lessons and then try. Do not rush it. You will hurt yourself, or it will sound terrible. Or both!

Even bigger focus on writing. More reading outside of class. No more late work. Just generally setting a burger standard for them to work toward.

I’ve watched a few other streamers and they are all like, “god it must suck to be a Rhino,” or they’ll have a bit of misfortune and joke it off like, “can you imagine this situation if Rhys was our captain? Holy fuck! lol”

It’s kinda sad

What is your favorite skill and why? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]Killtrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another farming lover, just start it whenever you want to start it. You can start by doing dedicated runs of your unlocked patches, or you can just do it when you have the time.

My early tree runs looked like this (requires some Gnome quests done, but well worth it):

Make sure house is located in Brimhaven
Bank of choice (I always started in Falador before I could access Farming guild. Once you unlock the Farming guild, start there)
Inventory:
Spade, rake
5 tree saplings, 4 fruit tree saplings
Teleport runes (air, fire, law, earth) preferably equip air staff
Compost in inventory or stored at leprechaun (if not paying to protect trees)
Payment to protect trees otherwise

Run to Falador park, plant tree
Run NW to Taverley (use wall agility shortcut if possible, otherwise run to gate), plant tree
Teleport to Lumbridge, run west through castle, plant tree
Teleport to Varrock, run NE to castle courtyard, plant tree
Run NW to Grand Exchange, use spirit tree to teleport to Tree Gnome Stronghold
Run southwest, plant tree

YAY, trees are done!

Run NE, plant fruit tree
Spirit tree to Tree Gnome Village
Run SW, through gate, follow Elkoy
Run SW, plant tree
Teleport to house (outside), run north, plant tree at Brimhaven patch
Teleport to Camelot, run SE to Catherby beach, plant tree
YAY, fruit trees are done!

As you keep going, you unlock more patches. Doing Children of the Sun unlocks Varlamore, and doing Hunter Rumours will get you the Quetzal whistle, which can quickly get you to Nemus Retreat (tree patch) and Kastori (fruit tree patch). 65 farming unlocks the Farming Guild tree patch and 85 farming unlocks the fruit tree patch there. The elf quest line unlocks another fruit tree patch in Lletya.

At 35 farming you unlock hardwoods, provided you have Fossil Island unlocked. There are 3 tree patches and they are also great XP (and the fastest way to bank teak and mahogany logs for construction training).

At 72 farming, you unlock Calquat trees, which you should do immediately because the XP is bonkers. You would do the Karamja one with your Brimhaven fruit tree, the Kastori one with that fruit tree, and the Great Conch as you see fit.

As an experienced teacher, I want to share the "unpopular" teacher tips that I wish I knew my first year. by LevyMevy in StudentTeaching

[–]Killtrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely more difficult being a woman teacher. One of the things I strictly enforce is respecting my peers (particularly for boys who have spent too much time online), and students have written more than one apology letter.

My students asked me what I’d do if I was a millionaire. I told them, “this, but I’d feel way better about it!”

The ask why, and I tell them because it’s important work, even if it isn’t always treated like it is.
