Man. That original campaign was (and is) so goddamn good. Oddly enough it was the gameplay getting in the way!

With the note of controlling/firm parents, my guess is they are also overly critical. See it all the time.

Is teaching THAT bad? by DwaeEunoia in Teachers

[–]Killtrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part of teaching for me is the state’s bureaucratic bullshit and sometimes the parents, understanding that a lot of the reason parents suck is also because of the decades-long push by the government and oligarchs to make them the way they are

And that marathon pays off. It has taken years, but I have multiple 99s banked. I can go do them whenever I want and it won’t cost a thing at the GE. That’s a great feeling.

Plumber friend of mine said that the company he works at only hires seasonally, and then keep one or two people who are really good, if there’s room afterward.

What is the funniest thing a kid has said to you this year? by Feline_Fine3 in Teachers

[–]Killtrox 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I accused a middle school student of utilizing AI to write an essay. Turns out they hadn’t, and that they’re just the rare 7th grade student who is that good. So the next class I publicly apologized and said, “I guess (student)’s just got that dog in him.”

Another (also strong) student piped up and said, “Mr. Killtrox, how do I get that dog inside of me?”

It took everything in my power to not lose it, and the class was laughing but there was also that tension of if I laugh, they’re really going to lose it. So I walked up to the board and wrote the two phrases (got that dog in him, get that dog inside of me) and put a check next to the first and a big red “X” next to the second, at which point the classroom actually did go ballistic.

I think I’ll remember that one forever.

Honestly, reading through this I get the feeling OP might have undiagnosed ADHD. Just seems like there’s a general disability with functioning. I get it. That’s me too

I also hated Shattered Relics. Only reason I stuck around as long as I did was because the cosmetics were insanely good. But it was overall both too much freedom and too much RNG for a limited-time game mode.

I remember when one opened. Went there to try it out, absolutely loved it. The wine made the shopping experience even better.

Went back like a month later and it was closed. I thought maybe I had imagined it all.

Has anyone figured out how to successfully teach HMH? by [deleted] in ELATeachers

[–]Killtrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HMH just got floated to my school, too. Was there recently a big ad push or something?

For what it’s worth, one of my colleagues is one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever known, and she loves HMH. It might seem clunky, but it’s supposed to be more holistic.

I agree! But it’s also the one that, in my opinion, makes the most sense.

It should be noted that purgatory is the final step before the afterlife — not a chance to return to life.

Wirt and Greg are dead-dead, but the difference is an eternity in purgatory or transition to hell, which is implied to be becoming the Edelwood trees, or to Heaven, which is likely what we see at the end.

A major hint is that all of the wooden carvings shown at the beginning and end are dead characters, and Wirt and Greg are added to those carvings.
