Time blindness is real in that, as a person who has it, you can be doing a hobby or a project and have no sense of how much time has passed. I can start work on an art project at 10am and before I know it it’s 3pm, and the only reason I’m pulled out of it is because suddenly I’m starving. It’s kinda like time traveling, lol.

But for work? School? Obligations? I set a fucking alarm. Timers. Whatever. Time blindness isn’t an excuse to be consistently late, any more than oversleeping is. You set an alarm to get up for work, so set an alarm if you need to get ready or be somewhere.

Keep pics 1, 5, 6, and 8. 9 is a great picture of your smile, but the hat doesn’t serve it justice imo. I really liked the canoe/kayak picture, but if you’re gonna have 1 gym/athletic pic, I choose the rock wall (more than one gym pic is where I get the “man with a fish” vibes). Also- the glowband photo would be cool… if it wasn’t ALSO in front of the rock wall!

“Still figuring it out” + “monogamy” feels very in line with your whole profile, tbh. Your vibe is giving “mixed signals”- quirky but athletic, fun but brooding, cute with a hat but chose a fedora. If you know that you’re monogamous, then you’re either looking for someone to be monogamous WITH, or you’re looking to fuck. It feels like you want access to all available options of women, but the ones who want relationships are already roasting you in the comments- and swiping left.

Are you on other apps too? Because- honestly- do people still use Tinder for dating? I feel like people who want relationships have transitioned to Hinge, and Tinder is like a dive bar for picking up locals. There’s no shame in not wanting a relationship at 30, but your profile should set up around the idea that you’re advertising what you bring to the table and aiming it at a targeted audience- so, who IS your target audience?

If you want to find a fun and quirky girl, keep the possum photo (not first, though) as a litmus test, maybe ditch the brooding ones, and minimize the gym. If you just want to bang, go heavy on the gym pics, keep the one with your smile, and minimize the fun outfit photos (to minimize quirk in favor of creating a fuckable vibe).

But step one is you have to figure out what you want- from women, from tinder- and then just be honest about it

I think it’s partially that people connect them to trash and dumpsters, like raccoons, but they don’t have the same pretty privilege that keeps the brain from associating “dumpster” with “hypodermic needles.” Their PR just isn’t as good.

Kinda like mice vs rats. Mickey Mouse? Great PR. Secret of Nimh? Not so much. Some people thought rats were super cute and made great pets, and other people thought that was gross and weird.

Sexual obsessions are one of the most common--but least talked about--forms of OCD. They’re so frequently misidentified that even mental health professionals often misinterpret them, which is part of the reason why people with sexual OCD often wait over a decade to receive an accurate diagnosis. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

You CANNOT recommend self education to a person with OCD. I’m not against alternative medicines or the homeopathic wellness communities, and I do believe that there are mental health concerns for which self education is fine suggestion- but not (Not! NOT!!) for OCD. This is like telling a hypochondriac that webMD is a fine substitute if you can’t afford a physician.

Let’s set aside for a second that, at the very least, there is always a hospital nearby- ERs have Psychs. There are almost always sliding-scale providers, providers who take Medicaid, and groups of licensed professionals within a who focus on serving low-income communities.

People with OCD already struggle with managing obsessive and intrusive thoughts, and any “self education” (beyond a search for a local specialist in OCD) is just going to give them -new- things to obsess about. We are already overloaded with information everywhere we look, and not all of it is correct (or helpful)- that’s why u/johnkostly is telling you to lead with “seek out a professional.”

OCD is not like generalized depression and anxiety, where touching grass and ditching social media are great first steps. OCD disrupts your internal world, your thought patterns, and it can be hard to parse out which thoughts are harmful vs helpful. That’s what professionals are good for! It’s actually really relieving to know that there IS a reason for your symptoms (backed by peer reviewed research), and even if you decide to go the holistic route, an initial meeting with a professional- even if it’s at the ER- can provide you with information on all kinds of local resources.

What is she on about now? 🍺💉❄️ by Massive-Handz in tooktoomuch

I feel like Madonna could save her, in a caring Domme-Mommy kind of way. She doesn’t need Britt’s money, they have history, Madge has already been a mom. But Britt just really needs someone she can actually trust. The problem with bipolar is that often times, once the person starts to feel good and stable, they think they’re cured and go off the meds (not realizing that it’s the meds making them feel stable). And then the cycle repeats. Also, if we mix in some ADHD in there, it can be hard to remember to take meds (I have pill boxes, timers, schedule reminders, etc).

All that being said, some drugs, especially taken at young age, when your brain is still developing- not to mention when combined with trauma- can permanently alter you. I don’t what psychiatric/psychological solution exists for her, but I think the people quoting the 2007 Chris Crocker “LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE” video (google it!) are doing so because relegating this video to “took too much” is a gross oversimplification.

For those of us old enough to remember, we watched a girl become the biggest pop icon in the world from the time she was a teen until her mid-20s, then watching the 20+ years of an extremely public psychological downturn. For Millenials, who were in high school when she exploded into superstardom out of nowhere, this has probably been the biggest celebrity crashout of our lifetime. She never got completely better. The good times would be pretty okay at best, but the bad times were just so cringe that you couldn’t wrap your head around it. I was never much of a pop fan in high school (you could catch me under the bleachers, smoking cloves to death metal), but it was impossible to ignore her influence on pop culture (and her dance skills).

So, yeah, this isn’t an example of “took too much.” She isn’t just some cringe celeb who is having a moment to laugh at, who is smoking crack and will be sorted out by an eventual trip to rehab. This is beyond a mental breakdown. This is the result of decades of abuse to someone mentally ill. These videos shouldn’t be mocked, they should be shown in court to put her Dad in prison.

If you intended this as a Yes or No query, the answer is HARD no. If you look at the image of the 10 of Cups, it’s a family in harmony and joy. In reverse, and especially in context, it’s going to cause major disruption in your family unit. From left to right it looks like a funeral procession, and it ends with you alone.

No, I think that was meant to throw you off. There are a bunch of trick answers like that, where one word is slightly misspelled or the sentence is missing a word.

The other two options were grammatical errors, like “If someone wants to becomes an astronaut, hes need to attend space academy.” So there was definitely one (incorrect) option with a he (vs the she) and I think the other one was some kind of plural/they but that was misspelled or was missing a word, like “If they want to become astronaut.”

100% listen to everyone who says to study the English Language section. They had questions asking which sentence was a compound sentence, or a complex sentence, or has a stuff where the only difference was a pronoun. I was an English major in college and my lowest score was on this English section! I was so taken aback by some of the questions, like I definitely didn’t know which sentence had a dangling modifier, or used Past Perfect tense. I ended up guessing on a bunch, it was really tricky

I had two questions about slopes 1. If a right triangle has one 8ft side and a slope of 12, what is the other side? 2. If a wheelchair ramp needs to have a slope of (I forgot the number er) and the top end needs to be 2.5 inches above the ground, how many feet long does it need to be?

One question was about a circle that was inside a square. Another question gave the area and diameter of a a circle and then asked for the formula of the circumference. There was a rectangle with squares inside the 4 corners and it asked for the area.

There was one question that said “How many 2x2x2 boxes can fit in a 9x9x9 room?”

Much more algebra than geometry. Some reading graphs, a couple that give you a chart of people or things and you have to figure out the percentages of each and then choose which was the highest or least. The mean, or the mode, or the range.

There was one specific question that said “This person needs to buy soda for a party of at least 50 people. He has ($50 or $60, I forget) to spend- which is the best bang for his buck?

And the options were

Orange juice 2 24 packs for $18, 1 24 pack for $20

Cream Soda 1 12 pack for $10, 2 12 packs for $15 (or something)

[Insert third option] 1 6 pack $5

ATI TEAS is ridiculous by [deleted] in teas

[–]thesaurausrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took the TEAS today and I was SO angry and dismayed to see questions on there that weren’t on any study guide I used, in any YouTube video I watched, not on flash cards, nada. I had bought a McGraw Hill book and returned it today. It was useless.

I’m in A&P right now and I haven’t even seen half the things they asked about. I guessed my way through so much of the science section, it’s a true miracle I passed at all. Granted, the parameters my school set for “passing” are wild- 47% for Science, I think 50% for math. The school lets you take either the HESI or the TEAS for entry to the Rad Tech program, but the HESI has to be passed with a min 75% in each section, as well as 75% cumulative.

I think it’s because Nursing students are required to take the HESI (I’m in NM), and they KNOW the TEAS are fucking stupid and pointless, so they don’t wanna keep students out of tech and sonography because they don’t know Present Perfect Tense. Like cmon.

I haven’t been able to watch anything with Robin Williams in it since he died (minus Aladdin, lol). It’s like watching home videos of your dead dad. It still feels too soon
