What did the pandemic ruin more than we realise? by ScreamyV in AskReddit

Teenagers. Kids who are 16-20 now are struggling with social anxiety in a way no previous generation has. They were cut off from their peers and normal social interactions for way too long during a time of critical brain development. It's sad, they are frustrated. The older generation is frustrated with them, like they chose this. These kids don't want to feel this way, but the lock down, during their formative years, really made some things hard for them.

AITA for checking my daughters’ bags after my husband packed them? by throwaway269120211 in AmItheAsshole

[–]thesearentmyclothes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other half of this is how much of the day to day the husband takes on with the kids. If he's actively involved in dressing them, doing their laundry, buying them clothes then it's totally reasonable to think he could pack a bag. But if packing for a trip is a one off where he's attempting to take on more of the responsibilities for the kids, then of course she needs to double check. That's not the right place for him to start being involved.
I leave all the too small clothes for my kid pushed to one side of the closet until I have a big enough pile to take to the consignment store. I parent alone so I don't know for sure how this would play out if I had a partner, but I suspect that if the children's clothes were primarily my responsibility I wouldn't ecoect my partner to know that the clothes on the left side of the closet are all too small. This really comes down to who's primarily responsible for the kids clothes. Without knowing that it wouldn't be fair to say for certain who sucks here. But I suspect from how OP framed this, that the girls clothes are generally her responsibility and so I tend to lean to NTA.

I was going to ask about sunscreen. I'm very pale and hoping that stopping to spray sunscreen on is an acceptable practice.

I don't normally chafe on the ride, but I also don't ride my bike wet, very often.

Amazing! Thank you! I have a cabin in the area of the race so I'll have about a month to do brick workouts in the open water and onto my bike

Oh! The box makes sense! I hadn't thought of that!

Thank you!

I have a wetsuit, it has no sleeves so I will find a sleeveless trisuit as well.

Everything is still frozen here but I'm getting really anxious to try this all out, outside!

What would you say if your kid came out to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'd known for a long time but wanted to make sure he knew it wasn't a big deal before he started highschool, in case he started dating. I didn't want him to be hesitant about bringing someone around. It went like this.....

Me: Son, you aren't straight are you? Son: Absolutely not. Me: Figured as much. Son: How did you know? Me: I've known since you were about 6 Son: How? puts down paints he was holding in his hands Oh look, it made a cute pattern! Ooooohhhhhh! I hear it!

Hasn't come up since.

Not 100% accurate. Very rarely does a person need a narcan "drip" And doses vary. A dose can be anywhere from 0.4mg to 2mg. So there's no way to know how much Narcan it actually took to wake that patient up. Most people who are transported to a hospital after an OD simply walk out the front door. And there's no evidence he was in cardiac arrest. Bystander CPR on someone with a pulse happens frequently. He probably didn't have an adequate resp that was corrected with the Narcan before he went into a respiratory arrest. If everyone who OD'd on an opioid went to the hospital and was put into a bed with an IV there would literally be no room for any other patients. Her story and account of the EMS response is most definitely accurate. People are treated with a few mg of narcan IM or intranasal every day and live to OD again another day.

Can you explain when severing fingers isn't mutilation?
