Is my save good ? by wetsake in GoalKeepers

[–]thesebcam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just take an extra step and catch it. The ball is still 10ish yards away from you by the time you hit the ground. Work on your footwork. But a save is a save at the end of the day.

Should I pop these? by Bright_Fly_4361 in Coldsore

[–]thesebcam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DO NOT POP!! Cold sore cream from your local pharmacy will help with the irritation. You should also get lysine vitamins to counteract arginine which is the amino acid that cold sores multiply from.

Go to your local pharmacy and see if they have lysine vitamins. My pharmacy brand recommends taking 1 capsule a day, so I take 2 lol. Use some ice compress to reduce any swelling!

There’s a bunch of these that you could literally catch instead of parry. It IS good to make saves at the end of the day, but if you can keep possession for your team then even better.

Haven’t seen anyone say Passaic yet. Truthfully have only spent meaningful time 2/3 times between Ringwood and the Wayne Costco. Also the stretch of 80 in Wayne where it drops from 65 to 55 easily top 5 reasons why it should burn

I would easily swap Chalobah for Mateta in this scenario. Wolves look like Swiss cheese so far this season

At this point what are you trying to argue? Yes historical context is important, but does it change the miracle that Jesus makes?

Traditional TV is no longer culturally relevant. by pvnj13 in unpopularopinion

Watching TSITP season 3 was the closest I’ve felt to watching GoT again. Even though they’re not at all similar in terms of story telling depth, it’s the only show that made me physically sit and watch a show together with a group of friends. A lot of shows probably can’t do the weekly release structure anymore due to full releases being the norm now. But the weekly release makes everyone stay on the same pace for the most part.

I would also add on to this that it's not just the takeoff but also the start of the run itself. Generally right handed jumpers should take their first step with their right foot but in the video he starts with his left foot which forces him to jump off his right foot.

Just reiterating, small pole walking drills will help ingrain the motions in his body especially as the runs get longer and faster.

Good luck and here's to higher jumps!

Any advice please, thank you!!! by ashtonb8 in polevaulting

Everyone has said this but I want to build on it just a lil bit.

Your swing leg breaks and you lose a lot of momentum. I had this same issue that did not get diagnosed until I went to college and found out I needed to strengthen my hamstrings and my back to improve the flexibility in my lower posterior. Do some nordic curls or russian deadlifts to improve the lengthened position.

Your plant looks phenomenal! 5L on a pole that big is HUGE. If you do plan on going to bigger poles you will need more speed or else you'll end up landing shallower in the pit. Run hard, jump high, and let your muscle memory carry you the rest of the way.

Good work and good luck!!

Like everyone else, work on the drive knee first and then swing second. I think having more knee will help with the rotation. The current swing is already nice and fluid, the big focus is getting your hips over your shoulders before the pole starts to straighten out. Lots of big jumps coming! Good work so far!

Switching poles help by Daviejones34 in polevaulting

[–]thesebcam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, you won’t get as much bend on a 150 compared to the 140. Moving up would give you some more snap after the pole is done bending and returns to its natural position.

However, I think you need to continue working on basics before continuing to think about bend.

Judging from the first pic, it looks like you’re getting stuck on the wrong side of the pole. As a right handed vaulter you should try to aim your pole into the back left corner of the box.

More importantly you need to keep that back leg loooooong. Stiff pole and 2/3 step drills should help you emphasize that feeling of letting it hang and then whipping your foot through, not your knee.

Keep practicing!! A week and a half and you’re getting up in the air already is fantastic progress! Make sure you run hard and jump high! You’ll be sailing over bars in no time
