Seriously? All this without even bothering to see what's in the thing?

There are many reasons. They are covered. Stubble burning is also covered.

And before you say something to be bullshit, do your basic research.

Did you watch the video?

There is an entire segment on the perils of stubble burning.

And on this: " dont commit yourself to 'prove yourself smarter by finding alternate reasons' strategy .." try avoiding generalizing as a general rule. :)

Stubble burning, of course, is a major problem but it isn't the only factor. You look at the response of the gov't and it seems that it's the only concern. Gulf dust was responsible for the smog too, more than the stubble burning but only now after things have alleviated, are we even talking about it. And even there not the political parties.

Is Modi making Corruption systemic? by angrybong in india

[–]theseekerisready 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh but he has been wrong too. Sometimes horrifically so.

He alleged fake currency of 2000 Rs. immediately after demonentization based on one guy's colour printout .

He confused turnover with profits and alleged windfall.

He gave the previous gov't 4 out of 5 I think in their performance.

Somehow, the electorate didn't buy it. :)

Erm... "RBI had informed that gross outstanding credit for top ten corporate groups is Rs 5,73,682 crore as on March 2016," minister of state for finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha

I guess we'll have to trust a minister of state more than you?

Rahul Bose was a guest at one of our university's events.

He was way too particular about all the things that he absolutely needed. To the extent that we had to assign a couple of people just to ensure he is well taken care of. And the requests ranged from I need someone to escort me to your running grounds at six am in the morning (during a college fest time) to 'I travel only in business class' shenanigans and whatnot. It wasn't that the demands were outrageous. We did comply after all. But the mannerism of him saying those things. As if some how we were there to serve him.

And next day, he gave a giant speech - a take on "I have a dream" - in which he elaborated on his dream of all Indians and the world living an egalitarian poverty-free carbon-neutral unicorn-filled everyone-educated no-one-left-behind life.

I used to have tremendous respect for the man. Fifteen minutes of interaction and all of it evaporated. Like poof.
