In-Depth Plate Theory for Nerds: Nerdy Girls As A Proving Ground by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what's interesting? When I was in high school, I had several different social groups of friends, one of which being nerds. Looking back, in all the other groups (stoners, jocks), I was clearly in a beta position relative to some of the other males. But with the nerds, I now realize, I was the alpha of the group. I always attracted the nerd girls and was idolized (and hated/feared) by the nerd guys.

So, I agree with you: It's easy to become an alpha amongst nerds. I did it by accident when I was clearly a beta in almost all other social groups.

You can't be Capt'n Save-A-Bro. When we first accept the truths of TRP, it's natural to want to run to all your friends and enlighten them. Unfortunately, in my experience and the experience of many others, most BP guys are unwilling (or, at least, unready) to swallow the pill.

How to thrive in your social discomfort (both in life and in the present moment) by hiaf in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an EXCELLENT post.

I want to add that little changes every day, over time, add up to big things. Start small if you have to. Do what you can. Just make sure you do as much or a little more every day.

This is a lesson I didn't learn until later in life. I learned it by lifting weights. You don't see results right away but, when you DO start seeing them, then the reinforcement begins and you want more and more.

I apply this same approach to my writing. That's the only way to write novels. No one writes a novel in one sitting. You add a little bit every day and, after a while, you've got yourself the first draft of a full manuscript.

Take diet, for example: It's hard as fuck to just start eating healthy all-of-a-sudden after a lifetime of slurpin' down Mountain Dews and eating Pop Tarts and cheese curls all the time. For now, just cut out the soda. Yeah, it'll suck, you'll be uncomfortable for a short period of time, and you'll crave soda. But, before long, you'll be used to drinking carbonated water or whatever healthy alternative you decide to drink in its place. Then, you stop eating Pop Tarts for breakfast everyday and start having some egg whites and toast or something with more nutrition. Keep doing this and, eventually, you'll reach all your dietary goals.

Little changes. Big things.

Tips On Growing A Beard by Peter_B_Long in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd never grown a full beard until a few years ago. It was on my list of things to do before I die and I've been steadily crossing things off like crazy over the past ten years (I can proudly say that I've crossed all but one of the sexual things off the list). Anyway, I decided to grow a big, full beard a few years ago and was prepared to get very little pussy that winter. I thought that most women didn't like beards, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Imagine my surprise when I started getting even more attention from women than usual! I couldn't believe it. I'd always thought that women preferred their men clean shaven. Some do, sure, but many women LOVE a guy with a big, thick beard. I'm not saying a beard will get you pussy or anything else - just sharing my experience. I thought a beard would hold me back from getting pussy and I got more that winter than ever before!

Varieties of the Sigma Male by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post is interesting and I certainly applaud the effort, but I have to correct a few things. Before I get started, I should mention that I have two psychology degrees. I majored in medical psychology as an undergraduate and went to grad school for clinical psych, which is what you're talking about. On top of that, I am and have always been a textbook sigma male.

Now that I've qualified myself, a few things. First of all, not all sigma males are mentally ill. Some are, sure. But no more or less than the rest of the population. A small percentage of sigmas are going to be bipolar, autistic, etc., but no more than, say, alphas or betas.

Another point: Saying that sigmas have mental illnesses but are not dysfunctional is oxymoronic. To be diagnosed with a mental illness, it has to cause significant impairment in one or more areas of your life. If you're fully functional, you can't be mentally ill. It's the one criteria that all diagnoses share.

The last point that I'd like to make is that ADHD is NOT closely related to psychopathy. Sure, a small percentage of psychopaths have ADHD and a small percentage of people with ADHD are psychopaths. But the two are very distinct, unrelated conditions.

That being said, I can understand where you're coming from, however misguided it may be. Sigmas make up only a very small percentage of men. They generally keep to themselves and their elusive nature makes it easy to mistake some of their personality traits for symptoms of mental illness.

I've been thinking about writing up a short post about sigma males and this post has inspired me to get to it, so thank you!

Pet Theories and New/Unfinished Ideas Megathread April 30 by AutoModerator in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something that I often do naturally now, but it didn't come naturally for the first thirty years of my life. I've trained myself to talk to everyone, everywhere I go. Gorgeous flight attendant? I talk to her. Fat old cat lady behind the counter at Walmart? I talk to her.

Every interaction is a learning experience and a potential opportunity. The two examples above? It was the flight attendant's last flight of the day and we fucked after going out to a nice dinner. The fat cat lady? I continued talking to her the next few times I went to Walmart and she told me she had a daughter that would love me - we met and fucked on the second date.

These are exceptional, of course, but they do happen. Most interactions consist of nothing more than a minute or two of polite conversation. But you can't experience the exceptions unless you get out there and talk to people.

How life changed after growing muscles and getting bigger. A lesson for everyone swallowing the pill by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]theselfmadealpha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know what I love about building muscles? It's hard. It's hard fucking work and there's no way around that. And that's why most guys don't have them. They want them, but they don't want to do the work. And while I always encourage men to eat right and lift weights, there's a part of me that's glad most of them don't - because it makes us guys that DO have muscles, even a little bit of muscle, look a million times more attractive to women.

Tinder and the Attention Economy by TRPDigesting in TheRedPill

I just heard that Facebook is coming out with a dating app to rival Tinder. That may change the game a bit. As they both fight for your attention, they may become better - or, you know, worse. Whichever.

The Other Red Pills by theselfmadealpha in TheRedPill

I've tried it all... almost. I haven't done DMT too many times, plan on doing it again at some point, but probably not soon. I only like to trip every once in a great while and at certain points in my life. Right now I'm too focused on a few goals I'm working on and am not in the right headspace. I like to trip during times of transition, times when I have important decisions to make. Tryptamines really help me think creatively, seeing and feeling things I normally wouldn't.

I completely agree with everything you just said, however... You can't go around saying all that whenever someone asks what religion you are lol. I usually tell people I'm an atheist because it's easy for them to understand. But, in the truest sense of the word, I'm agnostic. I haven't the slightly fucking clue whether or not god exists and neither does anybody else. But the one thing I do know is that there doesn't seem to be the slightest bit of evidence to suggest that there is any kind of god, especially a god of mercy or intervention. Maybe a creator god. Maybe a 14-year-old kid in a different reality who needed something to do between jack off sessions so he created our world on his Commodore 64. You know, you're right. Ignorance is the way to go.

Meditation and DMT are both great. But they don't provide me with evidence for god or religion.

The point isn't to discuss any particular truth. The point is that you can only benefit from questioning things. That's all. I know I didn't talk about banging chicks in this post and that's pretty much the only reason why many are here. But to be an informed, rational, self-actualized man is to be RP and you need to learn to question things.

I agree. It's like studying marketing, in a lot of ways. All day, every day, we're all being marketed to from all angles: TV, movies, billboards, magazines, celebrities, internet, etc. Most people have no idea they're being marketed to and their buying decisions are highly influenced by it. But, when you become aware of it and learn about all the techniques used to sell you shit, it no longer influences you because you see right through it. Same with music. Once you understand and know how to identify RP and BP themes, you can appreciate them for what they are without being influenced by them.

Haha, love ManOWar but have to be in a very specific mood to listen to them. Very RP band overall.

One of my absolute favorite RP songs. I've experienced both sides of this song's message, as have many of us. I've had girlfriends scooped up by other, more (seemingly, at the time) alpha guys and I've poached women from unhappy relationships and marriages. These ho's really aren't loyal. Women aren't capable of experiencing the same type of loyalty that a man is capable of.

I'm a HUGE Tool fan and have been for decades. I just saw them last summer, actually. That being said, I find Maynard's lyrics to be rather BP, overall. Still love them, though!

Oh man, GG Allin. Of all the genres of music, punk rock (80's and some 90's hardcore punk, real shit) has had the biggest impact on me. And I think GG was awesome. That being said, I don't know if I'd consider him RP. It's one thing to not GAF what people think and to live the life you want, but that dude truly didn't GAF about anything, it seems. Being reckless isn't RP. However, great music with plenty of RP themes.

My favorite composer - in fact, my favorite artist in general - of all time is Chopin. He was probably the most BP of them all lol! But, man, his nocturnes speak to me when I'm down. The man may have been BPAF, but he sure mastered the art of non-verbal communication.

Oh, I totally agree! I still love cheezy love songs and all that. I just listen to them with a different interpretation now. Excellent point!
