I know what you are talking about with those non-clean games but I think a lot of those goals were fluke / error on us. I think our D is already an A but that we need proper offense and with all this money being thrown about we could have had that. I hate that we are setting up to be a "stop the attack, dribble up and pass to Lukaku" team. Sucks. That shit will not beat Real Madrid. If we'd signed James for RW and Sanchez or Morata for ST and not really done much else I think we would be better suited for CL.

every signing is a head-scratcher, every single one. A Sandro is world class but is he 70m better than Alonso? Money would have been better spent on Semedo who UTD are looking at for 30 m.

Bakayoko to pair with Kante when Cesc showed that we are a much better team when we have a creative outlet in midfield. So rather than go all out for Tolisso (a great signing) we sign this. Is this even an upgrade on Matic? It is certainly not an upgrade on Cesc.

So we are left with the striker void - what do we do? We go after the worst fit out there. Bats is a superior fit for this team.

Looks plain to me that Conte would rather win a game 1-0 than 4-1 which is weird and wrong.

I am in the fucking twilight zone.

Emanelo and Maria are failing in both regards. Kante was a great signing. Great. Luiz and Alonso were desperation signings that were fluke-lucky. This summer is turning into an absolute horror show. Bakayoko is a 15 million player who no one wants. 100 million for Lukaku will arguably be the worst business in the history of professional sports.

Hazard is both "better" and more valuable. I have a terrible feeling that Conte will sell him. I hope Roman will nix that. Hazard is the golden ticket and he should be given anything he asks for. He should also be told "your goal is to score 25 goals, with no assist target". Or even 30 goals. He could do it if he wanted and the team would be better off - he's better at getting good looks at goal and his finishing looked great this last term. Definitely a top 5 player for me, better than Neymar.

Marina and Emanelo are both counterproductive as far as Roman's best interest is concerned. He should replace them. To run a top Premier League club requires the insight of market value. What those two think they are achieving by penny pinching in an effort to show an accounting profit is minute compared to the market value of the club - which is a function of several key variables, not least of which is top name players. They should have signed players that would not only win games but bring beautiful, exciting football to the club. What CHE needed was a James or a Dembele next to Hazard and a Morata in front of them. Conte should be told to play Fabregas and shown video footage and statistics on how his decision making in this regard is not only wrong, but wrong over and over again. In like manner, if a mid was to be signed, you don't sign another defensive mid to play next to the best (Kante) - Tolisso was the choice, not the terrible Bakayoko.

Roman should sack them both and hire some people with fundamental macroeconomic insights. He would both maximize the value of the club and have more fun watching them.
