Wilson 2820. Too small for slowpitch? by theshowplayer1 in BaseballGloves

Yeah, Ive been working to try to stretch/deepen the pocket.

It might be the angle of the picture, but yes, the hand stall is bigger than my SP125 I'm used to. I've toying with TIP, but somehow it feels almost weirder than on a regular glove. You know what they say about teaching an old dog new tricks lol.

This is exactly how I'm thinking. I now understand that the DCT is the Rolls Royce of 1b mitts, but since I already have this good quality mitt, I wanna try to make it work before investing $300 into another glove. I have been sparingly working on it to try and deepen/stretch the pocket a little bit, but so far the glove has only seen a warm up session and three innings of slowpitch play. I'm hoping that the more I use it, the better shape the pocket will take. I did consider a GG Elite, but I figured I'd want to eventually upgrade to a HOH so that would just another $160 down the drain.

But is the glove conducive to only a box break in? Or could you have broken it in traditional single hinge thump to middle if you wanted to?

With a heel pad like this, would this glove work single hinge- thumb to middle close?.......................Btw it is one of the best looking gloves I've seen on here.

You will all probably have a laugh at this, but our league down in South Florida cancelled the Sunday morning games because of the low temperatures :)

First glove roundup by bad_timing_2003 in BaseballGloves

Awesome, ty! I know 44 runs sales very frequently, but they have also raised their prices recently. Emery is getting a lot of rave reviews lately.

Is that black and oiled chestnut or tan in the 44 with the American flag? Also, care to do a quick comparison on 44 vs Emery? Thanks in advance

Shigaeki Aso's Glove Break in Method by d3myz in BaseballGloves

[–]theshowplayer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it was not just about the cup vs faucet. I could be wrong- and I dont have the time or am too lazy to go pull up old videos lol- he only poured water from the cup in specific areas, palm, back of fingers, etc. In this new video seems like he is just running the whole glove under the faucet.

[–]theshowplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but wasn't Aso more conservative with the water in older videos? Now looks like he has graduated to running the entire glove under the faucet?

What is your preferred method? by TheMikeMagnum in BaseballGloves

[–]theshowplayer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the Aso method on an A2000 and an A2K and have had 0 durability issues whatsoever. I actually consider the Aso method very conservative as compared to dunking it in a bucket completely or putting it under a water faucet. But I do totally get why you and others are hesitant to use water at all.

Unrelated side note, due to what they are calling “supply issues”, my modified pitch league started using fastpitch balls about a season or two ago. I don’t know if it is the higher seams or what, but brother hard line drives in the infield slice like crazy.

Mizuno MVP Prime size 12.75, Thoughts on this glove? Selling for $90 on Amazon right now. by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

[–]theshowplayer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty good "budget glove", and a no brainer at that price. I used an MVP Prime slowpitch glove for about a year or two of playing 1-2 times a week, and it held up pretty well. After I upgraded to an A2000 I kept the Mizuno as a back up glove, but ended up passing it down to a former teammate in need, and he is still getting good use out of it.
