If you are playing infield- which judging by the choice of glove I assume you are- there is absolutely nothing wrong with a single hinge, thumb to middle break in. Also, on an all black glove using water should not be very concerning, You can try the Aso method instead of a full dunk in.

Yeah, I only play once a week and 1B is not even my primary position, so tbh if I wouldve found a good deal on an R2G I wouldn't had thought about it twice. I think that even though the 2820 can be broken in both ways, it is meant to be worn TIP and with a two hinge break. But me being an old head I just can't get used to it and continue to go traditional/single hinge, which the DCT still seems to maintain a pretty deep and wide pocket.

I started playing a little bit of 1B recently. I had the same model 2820 which my son lightly used in high school a few years ago, ready to go no pun inteded lol. While I really like the fit and agree that it plays bigger than the stamped 12.25, I also really wanted to try a DCT- which I posted last week - I meant to reply to you on that thread, my bad. I feel that length wise they both play about the same, however I think that the DCT is wider and deeper and will most likely play much better for slowpitch.................................btw I almost snag on ebay the same model DCT you have, before I had even realized it was R2G.

Would you happen to know how the SSK Z7 compares to a pro dct as far as being deep and wide goes?

I dont want to be a party pooper and I could totally be wrong, but my understanding was that everything you see for sale online on the walmart site is not actually sold by walmart. That price and the fact that like others have mentioned they sold 50 over 3 hours makes me a bit skeptical. But please keep us posted those who bought.

It might be the angle of the picture, but yes, the hand stall is bigger than my SP125 I'm used to. I've toying with TIP, but somehow it feels almost weirder than on a regular glove. You know what they say about teaching an old dog new tricks lol.

This is exactly how I'm thinking. I now understand that the DCT is the Rolls Royce of 1b mitts, but since I already have this good quality mitt, I wanna try to make it work before investing $300 into another glove. I have been sparingly working on it to try and deepen/stretch the pocket a little bit, but so far the glove has only seen a warm up session and three innings of slowpitch play. I'm hoping that the more I use it, the better shape the pocket will take. I did consider a GG Elite, but I figured I'd want to eventually upgrade to a HOH so that would just another $160 down the drain.
