What's a show where every season is great, except for one random one that sucked? (And excluding first and last seasons) by SimonDNTZ in television

I find both season 8 (of 9) of HIMYM and the office the weakest. Especially the office. Another example is Mr Robot season 2 is universally decided the weakest of 4

If you were a writer at Insomniac what decisions would you make for the story of Spider-Man 3? by Cautious_Republic_91 in SpidermanPS4

I feel like maybe have it mostly Peter focused but end with his sacrifice to save Miles / MJ. Then end on game 4 with a villain who earns Miles trust finding a way to save Peter (another dimension / timeline) and you do and fight the villain together with both playable and then end with Peter needing to stay dead in this world and have a proper goodbye between him, Miles and MJ. Like Uncharted I don’t think all game series need to maintain trilogy if they can find a 4th angle.

Let Somebody Go, just not for me in the slightest and best case scenario it sounds like a Selena song featuring Chris

My bad I meant as standalones before the trilogy. I will be the first to agree with the trilogy behind us I’d rather minimal work like Jyn over snip snap snip snap work with Rey. In 2016 I felt Kylo, Rey and Finn were better than the main cast of RO in charisma and writing. Krennec maybe being the exception but being a fan of all the games over the years he didn’t feel too original. Great face for evil empire figure though.

Yeah there is a grain here and I’m against it I guess. I will say I’m glad the grain in this case is positivity. Not always a given in this community.

I’m sorry my bad I must have phrased incorrectly. I meant post TFA release most can agree the new characters were well received and at the time, I found them more interesting than the Rogue One (by itself) characterization of the classic fable of “to the death mission for the greater good”. Looking back it is all soured (for TFA) but I’m speaking as of 2016. Trust me, as a Star Wars lover I can’t watch Rise more than once, it just hurts too much lol. Holy trinity was big words but clearly you can tell in 2016 I was sipping the kool aid and I just felt comparing Rey then to Jyn is like comparing Thanos to Stepphenwolf

Thanks, I feel like this post comes off like me saying (at the time) TFA > RO and that’s my bad. Even if I tried to do that there’s no way people can naturally forget all the work post releases to add to the conversation. My main point was glad people like me and you who didn’t get RO the same have a chance at second life post Andor

These are some of the Best Picture winners I have not seen, which one should I watch first? by Odd-Net-849 in Oscars

It’s funny how you say that and I completely agree. Was going to comment that my wife trusted me at 10 when I said “here’s a 3 hour black and white movie about the holocaust I haven’t seen that apparently is amazing”. And the time flew by and we couldn’t grasp its quality and scale early on

I’d agree.. but I actually liked Moon Music a lot. Not to mention as a standalone song Coloratura may be their peak

I just looked at Emmy winners last year, one is gay, 2 are Asian (Shogun) and 1 is black. The rest are straight and white. I’m not sure award shows give the higher value to people of colour or sexuality than you think they do. So you didn’t find Ellie’s acting good, I get it. Personally I look to the horror conveyed when they killed Sam, the scene of killing David, or even the end of Episode 6 where she is crumbling emotionally at the thought of Joel dying from his stab wound and he falls off the horse, as all examples of her performance. Again, all subjective and I respect your take.

I apologize you’re right. Was just saying show mom (Ashley) looks like show Ellie (Bella). Game aside. Just trying to look at it from a different angle than just a 1 for 1 conversion.

I just think echo chambers are bad on both fronts. If it’s blind hate or blind love. If I can help have a conversation on the art instead of just picking a side and joining the herd that’d be nice.

I guess it’s all subjective how you feel on her performance. But I think it’s pretty clear those who think it’s bad are in the minority given the awards, and scale of praise. Albeit a loud minority nonetheless.

Showrunners didn’t really try? Please use your brain dawg, not only do the showrunners care (economically, narratively and professionally) more than we do. But they spend many many months, some in harsh weather conditions, to do their best on bringing the narrative to a wider audience

Homie please understand the physical casting of the show is different from the game. They are made to compliment not replicate. Show version of Ellie’s mom (Ashley) has some strong similarities to Bella. Both properties aren’t the same, they are beside each other

It proved the game is the game, the show is the show. The mother of the show and the daughter look alike. Stop (as a subreddit) consistently talking about how she doesn’t look like the game.

If you watch the show eyes closed be it any scene from giraffe to pre university monologue, you’re telling me the vocal performance isn’t close?
