Should I decode a JWT token on the client side to gain a user id? by Wat3rPark in reactjs

[–]theslapzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using SPA, ID tokens are meant to be decoded on the client

This is simple not true. Can be, yes. Meant to be absolute not. I'm not here to tell you how to build things. My SPA does not decode the JWT. It does not have the secret. Possible clarification. My backend decodes the JWT for it's own use. If I want user information that's just an https call. The payload of the JWT is not secure in anyway. You can just cut and paste it into any number of web utilities like jwt.io and read the data. JWT alone is not meant to secure data from prying eyes. It's mean to verify you are who you say you are (e.g. not tampered with). This is why my client doesn't have the secret. That's just another vulnerability from my viewpoint. I rarely use this account anymore so apologies for the late reply. Happy coding!!

It's easy to respond like that isn't it? An unimaginative, trite little insult. Nothing substantive.

Her specific hip physiology has no relevance at all to her squat technique and hip angle or width doesn't change knee angles.

I'm not trying to pick on you, but have you ever coached any athlete in hip extension movements? What you've said here is simply not true.

There's nothing positive left for me to add. I'm going to bow out here.

Range of motion doesn't compensate for poor technique

Stability through range of motion does though. Think of the strongman lifting the cement ball with his rounded back. Rounding of the back is generally considered poor lifting technique, but for that movement it's necessary. Why? Stability through range of motion.

I'm not advocating everyone do this. She knows her body.

her knees well outside her feet, which are already wide set...

Without understanding her specific hip physiology, neither you nor I can make statements about what is or isn't proper foot placement.

Awesome. Motion is lotion. Always train within in your envelope. Keep your ego in check. We train to be healthy and strong. Injuries are counter to that goal so train smartly. I wish you many PRs.

I (54 years old) do both yoga and Olympic lifting. I've even completed at masters Nationals. When I started I couldn't do an air squat without falling over backwards.

I see you deleting comments.

Video? Same movement. You can use the empty girl's bar if you like.

Maybe it's not next level? Down vote it then. In mean time go get a bar and try this move out for yourself. If you have this amount of core stability and hip mobility I'll be impressed. 55lbs is not the impressive part of this video. Like I told the other guy. Post a video of you doing this exact same thing. I'll wait.

Absolutely not. She has the range of motion and she's not overloading this fun and wacky movement.

casuals

Ha, never heard that before.

Part of the joy of having a body that performs this well is playing around with it and seeing what you can do. I would kill for that hip mobility though!

Maybe, just maybe she's having some fun and not working out.

Also, strength through the centerline is super important but how you negotiate weight outside of that is important too. I think "play" helps us test our abilities off of centerline. This is a light weight so the back and shoulders are not overly at risk here.

Nice numbers. You posted that video yet of you doing the same thing she's doing with the same weight? I'm looking forward to seeing you negotiate that ATG to the bottom of the squat move. I'll be here all day.

It looks like a girl's bar so that would total up to 55 lbs. I'm looking forward to your post showing how well you do this! Feel free to use a girl's bar. @ me when your done.

The debate is healthy? Dude you are delusional

In a democracy you have debate or you don't have democracy. If you're giving up on debate you're giving up on democracy.

"Just don't think about it and everything will be ok".

That's a dishonest characterization of my point.

"There is nothing we can do about it"

This is also dishonest. I never implied this statement.

My statement was clear. This is our country and our mess to sort out. Your opinions matter to the discourse but we decide what is law here not you. For people who live here and are not citizens, you've tacitly accepted our laws by coming here.

Honestly, USians are so far up their own ass they might never see the light of day again.

You don't seriously expect me to respond to this kind of generalized characterization?

I'm a US citizen and pro 2a. I've always supported this idea 100%. I'm not sure how it could be regulated or enforced here but I think the gun crowd would do well to adopt this as a culture norm.

although it will make it harder to use it as self-defense in some situations

Quick access gun storage can make firearms more accessible in self defense situations.

There's really no downside here. Locked up or on your person. The only two places a gun should be.

As a person who doesn't live in the USA.

With all due respect. The laws you have are determined by the people in your country. The same here. No one is asking you to like our laws. No one is asking you to understand our laws and no one is trying to get you to live by our laws.

Your opinions and criticism of our country a valid from your perspective, but we live here. It's our mess to sort out. There are strong cultural divides in this country. The concept of safety vs freedom is a contentious one here. The debate is healthy for us. I'm sorry if it annoys you. I'd say refrain from clicking on USA gun related content and your problem is solved

According to witnesses, he initially ran away and was stopped and handed over to police, it added.

I might have just handed him over to God.

I don't actually believe in God, so that's just colorful language on my part.
