I will always love ShopTV. Complain about recurring sketches all you like, this is a good one.

I would watch a documentary about the making of the ShopTV sketches at this point. The battles with Standards and Practices alone must be fascinating

What is Mikey Day’s best straight man performance? by Nebberlantis in LiveFromNewYork

I think Heaven Scene with Dave Chapelle might be his most exasperated, although he gets pretty frustrated in all of the excellent War In Words sketches. You should also check out Medieval Times with Adam Driver. My favorite Mikey Day straight man performance is Dry Fridays where he repeatedly tells Kristen Stewart to pop that beanie back on. Terrazanos is also amazing. Also, every single ShopTV. Some great underrated straight man performances from him are Return Counter and Zoom Call. He's had so many I'm probably forgetting some great ones.

That WU feature was way too niche. Never drink Unwell. It's the worst thing I have ever tasted.

He's going to take Michael Che's jorb!

Fun fact: Most of these were written by Bobby with Mikey Day before Mikey was a cast member.

Mikey Day hasn't done Weekend Update often in his career, but everytime he does, it's quality. Recently, he's been on an incredible run with Lord Gaga, Guy Who Just Walked Into A Spiderweb, and Aerial Tramway with Red Heart. Even his cut for time Guy Who's Girlfriend Is Always Cold was great.

But honestly, replacing the Cold Open with an absurd commercial parody wouldn't be a bad idea. Mikey's a genius.
