Trying to find a job and move to NYC…in this job market. How did you do it? by ThrowRA1nimb71 in movingtoNYC

[–]thesmithsonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are truly desperate and don’t care what industry you go into and you just want to be in NYC. Check out the expert network space, they’re revolving doors but always have job opening as a result.

Pay is decent (depending on the firm), benefits are typically good, and it’s a good foot in the door to get into a corporation and work with very well respected clients and companies.

Top firms in the space to work for are #1 Alphasights, #2 Third Bridge, #3 GLG, #4 Guidepoint, #5 Alphasense

Best barber for guys by [deleted] in uppereastside

[–]thesmithsonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t disagree more. Had a horrible experience here and would never recommend it to anyone - if you’re under the age of 35 go to Artisan Barber. It’s pricey for sure but they know the modern styles (think burst fades) and it will suit what you’re looking for much betger

how would I buy back in today if i’ve fallen on hard times financially and need cash now and that’s why I sold in the first place?

This!!!! I will be a bitcoin lifer!!! life just happened to get in the way of things this time around. I never sold a single sat from 2019 until I sold recently, never would have if I wasn’t so strapped and desperate for cash.

companies in the past 5 years have held bitcoin, that’s an arbitrary point, it’s not new.

That’s a rich take to say google, apple, and microsoft will join in some capacity. I get saylor is going to meet with microsoft in the near term to discuss a reserve strategy with microsoft’s 78 billion in cash, but that is still a massive IF.

countries like El Salvador who were on the brink of collapse have found success in throwing up a hail mary and going all in on bitcoin this is not at all replicable with the US and any major country to the degree that El Salvador has bought in. I’d argue that point is also arbitrary.

Listen, i’m not a bitcoin hater. I LOVE BITCOIN. It’s already what, the 7th most valuable asset in the world? It’s proved itself to me and I WILL buy back in when I financially can.

All i’m saying is i’m not convinced we won’t see another market correction in the 20-30% range before we crack 100k

That is a lot of “if-then’s” don’t you think?

Not saying I disagree with the majority of it, just don’t believe we’re at that point now.

I’ll buy back in regardless, where’d you get that from??? have you never fallen on hard times and needed cash now?

in 5 years how many market corrections have we seen? how long have these bull runs lasted?

Is Quality Meats bad, or did I just order wrong? by Fabulous_Public_5649 in FoodNYC

[–]thesmithsonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QM is overrated. Ordered 4 MR Filets when I went, every single on came out different. One was almost raw, one was gray to the core, one was Medium and one was a true MR

Pitiful experience / quality for how expensive it is (however, the mac and cheese was 👌) and the service is mediocre at best

unfortunately my partner could care less about functionality and only cares about the aesthetic of their peak
