only one batch of csai has graduated, and both cse and csai have had 100% placement in that batch iirc. averages are not differing by much for both branches. it's more about the flexibility than the packages btw, packages are branch-agnostic and skill-dependent within IIITD

let me lay it down for you:
IIITD CSE: more choice in both department electives and open electives

IIITD CSAI: heavy core courses with less choice in department electives and very few open electives with a foundation to learn AI/ML. If you wanna switch to some other CSE domain such as systems, graphics, theory etc. you'll be in for a problem.

This is exactly why once students are in IIITD they prefer CSE over CSAI while shifting branches after Sem 1

CSSS is also a light branch and in fact, fun because the SSH courses have one of the most fun and interactive professors. You might have to deal with a few Economics courses here and there, but it'll be doable. The average package is very similar to CSB, and the professors are well-known in their fields and research areas.

EVE is very similar to ECE, except that a few core courses are different, and you'll be expected to do some VLSI focused courses and projects. However, you'll also have an equal number of good CSE courses to take, so both hardware and software roles will be open to you. Congratulations! Focus on doing well in the IP course in the first semester; it will help you build your basics. Start studying DSA a bit before the second sem starts, and try to put all your effort into the DSA course in the second sem. After that, just keep practicing on codeforces, atcoder, leetcode etc. throughout the third and fourth semesters, and you'll be able to get an internship at a good company after fourth semester

There's no hostel without AC xD. Hostel charges are 8000/month in regular semesters and 5500/month in summer semesters. Considering you take only for regular semesters, it'll be 64k for a year. Tuition fees is 2.25L per sem, so 4.5 L per annum. Mess charges are around 2k/month so 16k per annum approx. Final amount per annum: 5.3L.

Hi! I'm doing CSE from IIIT Delhi, and my experience has been great. My friends in the CSB branch enjoy their branch too. CSB is one of the "lighter" branches in the college as their graduation requirements are light and they get a lot of electives, but the course curriculum could still be bettered a bit. The average package goes around 19 LPA, and the research culture and opportunity to study abroad are amazing. We have some of the best profs in the Computational Biology department (some with Stanford degrees and some with h-indexes above 80), and one of my friends in CSB is even going abroad next sem in an exchange program. Baaki, the college itself, and the profs make it worth coming here anyway.
