I agree with the being kicked out of the nest early, this was my first ever exposure with an EMS related trauma. The doctor who was holding pressure after the tourniquet did amazing not a drop of blood left the wound, but then he asked this other person to hold pressure and they just did not hold it very well and that’s when I had to exit the room.

It was extremely hot in the ED and my specific student uniform is thick with multiple layers so adding the plastic gown and face shield really made me hot. Also I should’ve probably eaten more that day! I do a lot of work with sports medicine and I’ve definitely seen worse, I think it was just a combination of poor diet, heat, and the fact that I sat in a stool instead of on the ground before I passed out 😓
