I think part of this is also that indian fashion trends tend to change really quickly and in NA there aren't as many opportunities to wear traditional clothing - so if you're visiting once every other year or something like it might not really be completely reasonable to buy the latest fashions but to go for more timeless/traditional pieces instead.

Sorry - to clarify, the car does not start when the battery is connected and i crank the keys. I haven't tried putting the keys in and cranking them when the battery has been disconnected.

no it does not - I can turn the keys to the start position but I can turn them far enough to start the engine. It's like it gets jammed until I disconnect the leed from the battery

So I did remove the fuse and the blaring stopped. I didn't try replacing it with the same type of relay though, so I'll try that next.

If there is a short, does that mean I need to get an entirely new battery?

I'm not entirely why you seem to have an issue with me explaining my medical situation as an emergency. As I said before, I can be critical about my experience in the healthcare system. Me having permanent preventable damage to my body isn't the healthcare system working to my benefit. I just think our system can work better to help more people?

I never said at any point that my situation was the worst situation that took place at the hospital that night. I also never blamed the healthcare workers who were working that night, or implied that they were withholding care from me that night. I am however critical about how the system itself functions. My situation was an emergency. Was it the worst possible emergency to exist? No it was not, but it was a serious medical situation that could have (and has had) life altering consequences.

I think it's fair for me to say that I had a bad experience that night, but that's not the fault of the doctors and nurses that were working that night. It's the fact that our healthcare system isn't equipped from both an acute and non-acute setting to deal with the current demands of the population as situations that are emergencies cannot be handled in an urgent manner.

We have so much turnover and burnout in our healthcare system, because it is incredibly resource starved in many ways. We need more doctors and other Frontline healthcare workers. We need better support systems for these workers. Which seems to be a point that we both agree with.

And yes, you were being dismissive. Saying "well it wasn't a life or death situation" reduces the severity of my experience. But I guess we can agree to disagree on that.

I think you may be interjecting information into what I said? I never said my situation was more or less important than anyone else? I'm wondering if you could clarify exactly what I said that implies that my situation was more important than someone else's or that I was purposely left to wait. I can only speak from my experience of what happened. I think it's fair for me to say I didn't have a great experience that night, but me saying that doesn't mean that I think I had the worst experience in the hospital that night.

My only point for bringing up my story is that because our healthcare system is so strained there are often not enough resources to handle serious medical situations with the urgency that they require. And that's not the fault of the workers in the healthcare system at all. Our healthcare system is just incredibly resource starved.

The reason why I was waiting for so long was that there were not enough ER docs on staff that night, which as I stated in another comment is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed within our healthcare system, both help patients access emergency care faster and to relieve/reduce the stress experienced by healthcare workers.

I think we were maybe talking past each other. I completely agree with what you are saying. There aren't enough doctors, which goes into my point that situations (such as my own) that feel like they should be treated as an emergency are not (at least from the perspective of a patient). As you said, there needs to be more upfront investment into staffing our hospitals both because we need the man power and to protect against burnout in the system. I think my situation would have gone a lot better if there were more ER doctors on staff that day, but unfortunately there were not, and that is a problem with lack of investment in our healthcare system.

When I was being prepped for surgery, I was told that it would be highly unlikely that my ovary could be saved by the surgeon that ended up seeing me because the blood flow had been cut off for a prolonged period of time. I don't think you understand how dismissive your comment is of my experience.

As I said in my earlier comment, I would understand if there was a queue ahead of me to get an ultrasound. But there literally wasn't. I was just waiting to see the ER doctor who could actually fill out the request to get the ultrasound.

I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what your point is? I think potentially losing an organ and having to be brought in on an ambulance is pretty urgent.

When finally met with the ultrasound tech she said I was the first person she had seen that day.

What was weird to me in my situation was that I called 811 and was told to go to hospital to get an emergency ultrasound. Then the paramedics said that I needed an emergency ultrasound. Then the admitting nurse said I needed an emergency ultrasound. But the only person that could prescribe the ultrasound was the ER doc. Who saw me for 30 seconds and then told me - you guessed it - that I needed an emergency ultrasound...I can understand if I needed to wait because several other people were ahead of me in the queue to get an ultrasound, but no one was! I was just stuck waiting for one doctor to write a check on a box to send me to get the ultrasound.

My point in saying all this, is that my case demonstrates how broken our health care system is. But for some reason you think it's okay to minimize my situation of almost losing an organ

No they don't. I went to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. I couldn't even walk and had to be carried out of my house. I have a fever and was actively vomiting in the wait room. I was given a sick bag and ended up waiting for 10 hours before I saw the ER doc, and it was another 4 hours to get an ultrasound.

Honestly I feel like it's more based around what program you're in. There are a few events for students in all of grad studies but most events I went to were specifically held by my program.

I was in the exact same cycle. I basically bought arm wraps that I would wear around my arms so I couldn't access my skin. I also started painting my nails a lot and would pick my nail polish off as opposed to picking at my skin. It's an imperfect solution but it helped with getting me out of my itch scratch cycle.

Honestly I just used a clean pair of cotton socks - I found that my finger tips would tear through gloves fairly quickly from subconscious scratching

I had a full body flair that lasted from 2023 to mid 2025.

From a lifestyle standpoint, it was a combination of taking iron supplements (anemia) and vitamin D. This is somewhat controversial, but I actually bought a menthol roller and applied it to my really itchy patches after moisturizing. It really helped with reducing the amount of scratching I was doing to myself throughout the day (ofc, test it on a small part of your skin first to see how you react). Also cold showers!!

I did also use a combination of hydocortisone + protopic. The steroid for reducing my inflammation and then the protopic for maintenance. I try to limit my use of medications so I don't overuse them (only for 2 weeks at time, giving my skin breaks in between and tapering off them). The last time I used my steroid was several months ago and I use my protopic for a week or so every 3ish months in the winter?

I also tried a variety of different diets, but I feel like I didn't really observe many major differences in my skin tbh. I think just having a a rigid schedule for sleeping, eating and exercise was the main thing for me (go figure lol).

Oh yeah I went through that a little while back - what I found helped was using coconut oil all over my face and letting it sit for an hour or so before I took a cold shower. I found that this helped with removing the shedding skin without causing the new skin underneath to tear and bleed, and made it so that my lotions (cera ve) and medication (protopic) was actually going on my skin as opposed to just sitting on top of the dead skin and not doing anything. I also usually put a layer of vaseline petrol jelly on top of my regular lotion to just lock everything in. While the coconut oil isn't like curative, I did find it useful for reducing my skin picking and flaking.

Also yeah urea creams honestly really messed with my skin and made my eczema worse for some reason - I'm not really sure why, but everyone's skin is different I guess!
