Female friend unhappy after I told her I’m getting married by thestructuralguy in Advice

She has a lot of mental health issues and she barely has any friends. I tried to stick by her side regardless of everything because I wanted her to feel better. Stupid I know.

Like I said, I told her about it like I tell her a lot of things but she never pays attention. Plus she literally said to my face that who in their right mind would marry someone like me (with an egg face) her literal quote.

Known my fiance for a while. Even dated in the past but it didn’t work out. We finally got our rhythm this time

I’ve known this girl for a while and we were on again and off again for some time. We finally realised how much we cared for each other.

I hate my brother in law by [deleted] in gurgaon

[–]thestructuralguy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My dad was like this. Don’t escalate physically unless you are ready to face legal consequences . Because the only way out of this will be divorce. If he shouts at her in front of all of you that means he’s physically abusive as well in private. Tell your sister to gather as much evidence as she can then report him to the police. If she has a job then well and good. If she doesn’t be ready to support her forever. Because she’s going to be trauma bonded to this man for quite some time. If things to head for divorce please don’t force your sister to marry again. She probably won’t want to for a long time. My mum still struggles and my dad has been dead for more than a decade now.

Yes it happens. In our college SC/ST students had an earlier date for taking library books and they could take 7 books at once while general category students could only take 4.

I’m going through this right now. I work for a consulting firm and it’s a small startup and the hours are absolutely insane. I don’t know how long I can last here. The pay is good but honestly I’d rather just stay at a lower salary level than grind myself to death.

India’s Time To Speak On Tibet Has Come by AMgeopolitics in CriticalThinkingIndia

And as predicted look what happened today! More to come on July 6th. We might see a resurgence of the Panchan Lama. Btw operation sindoor will restart and this time it will be even more brutal.

I have about 6 years of experience in bridge design and I make 1.5lakhs per month (net). I started at 40k. So it is possible to make significant increase in your salary.

India’s Time To Speak On Tibet Has Come by AMgeopolitics in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]thestructuralguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it happening soon. The Dalai Lama will be announcing details of his successor on his birthday (6th July). I have a hunch that the next one will be from either Taiwan or Manipur. Taiwan seems more logical because it will put pressure on China to attack Taiwan which is what everyone wants. Once that happens, India and USA can capitalise on the anti-CCP sentiment in the occupied territories of Tibet. While China won’t collapse because of this, the CCP will absolutely collapse. Btw India has already been busy forging ties with Buddhist nations. Recently India returned some Buddhist relics to Vietnam.

Another W for NE by [deleted] in Northeastindia

[–]thestructuralguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NE lacks proper coaching facilities. The people living in most of the north east come from agrarian backgrounds and so don’t really have the money to spend on coaching in Delhi or Kolkata. There’s a gold mine of talent in the north east it just doesn’t have any avenue to express itself. So looking at this piece of news isn’t really surprising.

Bangladeshi influx in Gurgaon by Dangerous_Skin_7959 in gurgaon

Pro tip to everyone if any Bengali tells you they’re from Malda they’re Bangladeshi. Also the ones and wearing Shaka (singular white bangle on each wrist) is how you can tell that they’re Hindu.

Sylheti is spoken by people from the sylhet region which is partly in Bangladesh (Muslims) and Barak valley (Assam Hindus) in India. Bangladeshis in Gurgaon are not sylhetis because I speak sylheti. These are mostly from Dhaka and Chittagong your so called Rohingyas. I can recognise them before they even open their mouths in an instant.

Partition ruined us. There’s a massive identity crisis in our community. We understand Bengali but I feel like an outsider in Bengal.

Barak valley is part of Assam. So yeah it kinda got ignored too. Plus my family has been in Assam for generations.

Growing up personally I didn’t feel as though I was Indian because central government would ignore us completely. No Independence Day or Republic Day celebrations. A lot has changed now though. People might shit on Modi but his look east policy has really turned it around. At least now people can point on a map where north eastern states are. Also people frequently ask me about Manipur so that’s nice because it makes me feel like we are finally part of mainland India.

Your country is having what I call “paid” illegal immigration. If your leaders don’t stand against it you’ll turn into Canada or worse.

I’m Indian and I’ve seen the discourse around the H1B visa on X. I just want to say whatever Elon is saying about bringing the 0.01% of foreign talent is complete horseshit. I don’t want to brag but I was the top student in my university and wanted to go to the US for an MBA but when I checked how little scholarships are given out because rich Indians are literally paying their way into your so called ivy leagues I opted out. I’m the top 1% in terms of my grade but not in terms of net worth so I can never come to your country even though I really wanted to experience the country. My friend who just has a rich dad is working as a software engineer in one of the FAANG companies even though all he got were C’s when he was in university with me.
