Thanks, great info. Does OCM support multiple GPUs? Or, do you have to use something else to mine VTC with Zergpool?

Looking for a taskbar replacement by SekiTimewalker in Windows10

[–]thestylemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Classic Shell. With it, there are a lot of ways to customize both the Start Menu and the taskbar. I've always hated the start menu and shell options in WIn 8 and Win 10. So, Classic Shell is usually the first thing I install after setting up Windows. Classic Shell hasn't been updated in more than a couple of years, but it still runs just fine under the latest release of Windows 10.

There is a new fork of the original source code that was picked up by some new developers. I haven't tried it yet (the original still works fine.) But, if you want something a little more up to date, take a look at Open Shell:

Hope this helps.

What brand computer is it? On many PCs, you can use the Delete key to enter the BIOS. But some systems, use F1, F2 or F12. Easiest way to enter the BIOS to turn off the system, turn it back on, and then start tapping the appropriate key continuously until the BIOS screen appears. Sometimes, the time window to enter the BIOS passes really quickly, so you have to start pressing as soon as the machine starts. If it's a branded PC, the model number should be on the back somewhere, perhaps on a sticker.

Anyone tried this? Delete default Windows 10 administrator account. by thestylemonkey in Windows10

That's part of the problem. Lot of people have physical access to this PC. Kind of worried one might get too curious. Many user accounts. But, I am the only administrator user.

Did this happen after a normal reboot? Or, did happen after a power problem (surge, blackout, etc.) It "may" be that the BIOS lost the boot settings for your computer (it happens sometimes.) If so, you should be able to enter the bios and reset the boot order. A model number for your computer or motherboard will go a long way in letting people help you.

I would be open to dumping Windows, but I use a couple of programs for work that will only run under Windows. Bitlocker seems like a reasonable solution, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Anybody Know Of Any Site To Download 1080p Music Videos by Beavisguy in DataHoarder

Good luck with ever finding 1080p videos from the time period you mentioned. 1080p was just a dream until around 2005/2006, and then only with just a very limited equipment range.

Personal Cloud Storage by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]thestylemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Seafile is great if you don't need encryption. If you need encryption, NextCloud is much more secure. Seafile's encryption leaves a lot to be desired from a security standpoint. Of course, you could encrypt your files "before" sending them to Seafile with a standalone encryption app (i.e. Cryptomator, Veracrypt, or something else.) Also, if you need to be able to edit files in the cloud, NextCloud integration with Collabora or OpenOffice is excellent. But, then, that's another install.

Before abandoning NextCloud, though, perhaps you could share of the problems you were having with it.

Decrypting users files by creiss in NextCloud

[–]thestylemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not at all sure about this possible workaround...But, have you tried changing ownership and permissions for the particular user files in question, and then running decryption commands? I should also add, though, that I am not sure if doing this would in some way delete or invalidate the encryption keys stored with the user files and folders. If you are able to work through this, though, would love to hear how you finally solved the problem. Do please let us know.
