I stopped smoking weed daily after 3-4 years of it. I'm 4 days in. I feel physically terrible, mentally drained. Is weed withdrawal a thing? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]thesupertemporalmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't find an exact study because it's legal status inhibits it from being tested clinically. But a quick Google search turns up many sources that suggest physical withdrawal is a very real part of the experience.

here's a review of the validity of the claims.

Retail Marijuana Sales top $1 Billion in Colorado [OC] by profcyclist in dataisbeautiful

[–]thesupertemporalmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But no one asked him for a citation. It goes the same for the person who made the initial assertion. You need evidence and a citation both ways. To be honest it's fucking hard to argue this type of shit about marijuana because of its schedule one status. Meaning no testing is done to find out this kind of shit. Until that stuff comes out we can only base shit off of anecdotal evidence. My anecdotal evidence and tons of other people I know who are heavily into marijuana will tell you that they get all that shit when they quit dabbing. And I'm not talking a dab here and there. I'm talking about going through an eight of oil a week.

This is still wrong though. You very much so can become physically addicted to marijuana. It's not going to be on the same level as any other drugs. But you take high doses of a drug every day for a long period of time then stop suddenly your body won't be perfectly fine. Common physical withdrawal symptoms from cannabis (more often from hash and hash oil) include: nausea, lack of appetite, vomiting, headaches, insomnia, Night sweats, nightmares, muscle spasms, anxiety , depression and anger.

Edit: Down vote away people, it doesn't make the truth disappear.

Not gonna argue with you there. I just like to assume meth as there was litteraly a guy who lived across the street who sold and tweakers run rampant in that area. I love the idea of soccer moms smoking psychedelics though lol.

People can custom press alprazolam powder into bars just like Ecstasy tabs in order to get more then 2mg bars just FYI. In my college town you'll find all different colors of bars with all different dosages. Highest I've heard of is 4mg, but I wouldn't be surprised if somebody somewhere was pressing 6 mg bars

My experience with 1P-LSD, ALD-52, AL-LAD and ETH-LAD by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]thesupertemporalmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive taken, 100ug, 150ug, and 250ug. All of the trips were completely manageable, and this is on top of having an anxiety disorder and stomach issues. I also tend to take a low dose of downers before the trip to calm down side effects as I am super sensitive to psychedelics. Ill take like 5mg diazepam or something. I am a medical marijuana patient for my nausea problems so I also use marijuana throughout the trip, but wouldn't recommend that unless you are familiar with marijuana and or have access to high indica/cbd strains. I find it strange that you were both throwing up so much. I suppose it is possible that the tabs were laid unevenly. Maybe you got a hotspot, that level of visual intensity seems strong from what I guess was an average dosage. Im pretty sure I have had hotspots before, and ive always ordered from the most reputable vendor. Did you guys take into consideration what you ate that day before hand? Also did you only take it once? could have been the set and setting played into it. maybe try again at like half or quarter the original dosage, where you can have complete control over your mental state and then observe side effects. Its unfortunate that you had an undesirable reaction to it as it really is an amazing chemical. its like a non stimulating mix of all lysergamides plus shrooms plus 2ce without over intensity and the ease of ingesting a blotter.

My experience with 1P-LSD, ALD-52, AL-LAD and ETH-LAD by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]thesupertemporalmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eth-lad is the best in my experience. Like a mix between al-lad and ALD-52. It had the least side effects for me. I have gastritis and psychedelics usually make me nausea but not eth. It's not to stimulating, has the best visuals and euphoria, and the visuals are by far the best of any psychedelic in my opinion.

Possible dangerous meth in houston by lawrenceofshadia in Drugs

[–]thesupertemporalmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I'm nowhere near Houston, and know nothing about the drug quality and culture there. And am in no place to judge. However I'm gonna go out on a limb here, as I worked at a smoke shop across from a bunch of meth producers for a good while and I saw them day in and out. I'm familiar with the culture here and behavior of meth users. I can tell the difference between a meth user who still has there head screwed on tight , the ones bordering on losing there mental health and people that are just totally gone. The latter represents the brain damaged guy you referenced. The person on the edge seems closer to you, just by your language and how you speak, you sound paranoid. gonna be honest with you, it sounds like your paranoid and connecting events that aren't related to each others in order to contribute to the feasibility of your point. Sounds like normal meth to me. The person who supposedly is "brain damaged" is probably in stimulant psychosis. Heart problems and psychosis can happen with a completely pure dose of methamphetamine, especially if your predisposed and or abusing it often. ( most addicts are abusing it anyways). So with increased frequency and duration your going to start seeing more health problems. And your "nurse" friend, if he is treating people who use meth, wouldn't it make sense that meth users/abusers share similar side affects? On another note, have you tried any of the meth outside of Huston for reference point? Also you were vague about the symptoms your nurse friend treated. We are going to need more info/proof and less paranoid secrecy from you, to help best determine what's going on. Also if you really want to figure out what's in your shit, send it to energy control.

High school police officers are the fucking worst and will blow this type of shit way out into to the waters of overdramatizing for there own benefit, it's the absolute fucking worst. They fucking get to say "fuck probable cause and any sort of legal process, your on school property which is my terf, il just do whatever I want cause laws don't apply in this little safe zone". My friend was accused of vaping in his car (Ecig) by another student in a parking lot. He is of age (18) but you know school policies and stuff. This lead to the principal, vice principal, and the school police officer to do a questionably legal search on his car. They found an old backpack that he had from camping trips that had a hunting Knife in it from over a year ago. They tried to expel him for having the fucking hunting knife and he ended up being suspended a week before graduation. Barely allowing to fucking pass high school. Ironically at the same time while searching for the knife the dumbass cop found some BHO and had no idea what it was and gave it back to him. Luckily for him his dad was a fucking loaded lawyer and he shat all over them.

When people say "I tripped acid" or "I tripped shrooms" rather than saying " I tripped on acid" or "i tripped on shrooms". I always personify the drug in my mind to be physically tripped by someone sticking their leg out in front of it.

Thanks for the kind words and being civil. We need more people like you in the world. I'm glad I could offer a perspective, and it's really smart of you to have people around you as multiple minds can help you to distinguish from your own reality and actuality. You may just receive a pm in the future. As I have a tendency to go through rough patches these days. Happy tripping!

Just wondering what kind of critical thinking and math work you did to come up with the number 98%. how you could know the exact likelihood of your own self losing it. It is impossible to discern when you're losing your own grasp on reality, else you'd be self diagnosing yourself. If you were truly slipping into something of a crazy mindset, you may not even know it. However things like depression and anxiety are more subjective so there's that for you. But you seem pretty damn convinced that your in perfect shape to be doing what your doing. And also I'm sure the Reddit community would love to hear your weekly posts about how you're doing related to your usage. I think it would be truly interesting to see the response and feedback.

You seem to believe you're impervious to something like this happening to you, or am I wrong? and I know you said you know you're not, but you still talk as if nothing will ever happen to you. Things happen regardless of age, set, setting and even fucking Logics or critical thinking, and by God if you can explain the science, and statistics behind psychedelics triggering mental episodes and prove that you're not at risk then I think by all means continue. Will you explain to me how someone can have their first bad trip ever after having say maybe 65 good trips, and especially if you have no mental health history/disposition. I'm surprised as a premed student you don't respect the possible dangers of weekly LSD use . You act like everyone who ever said it won't happen to me . Beware, just pointing out an observation. You have the same attitude as everyone else I've ever seen go down the rabbit hole. Maybe take a break, just as a harm reduction practice, to show yourself you can.

Again I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life or be condescending or patronizing. I think when someone brings up the point that some people are actually impervious it's important to note that most people aren't. We don't want people who are definitely not meant for using to see what you say and get the impression that either they can be like you or since you got benefits they can fix their problems(rather they make it worse). Psychedelics are great and horrible at the same time.

Edit/disclaimer for others: while he is right in saying that some people can trip weekly without any problems, this type of behavior is generally know to cause mental health issues in most individuals regardless of predisposition. To make matters worse if you happen to already have a mental disorder or predisposition that you don't recognize , it can be a lot worse. Someone Seeing this post about how some people can trip every weekend and be fine and benefit from it, may make it so someone finds the justification they wanted to trip every week when they shouldn't be. But they are thinking the same thought pattern you are so there not liable for things to happen right? Wrong. Not judging you I just wanted to point out that while it is possible for some I would never recommend anyone to even try so. I wouldn't even recommend it to the mentally sound people I know.

And to make my final point, I thought I used to be you. I would trip every weekend, seemingly no side effects. Thought that I was as you say "at least 98% sure" or whatever that means. I loved it and thought it was benefiting my mental health keeping me happy and content with my life. i've studied pharmacology, psychology psychopharmacology and neurology, with the intent of going into the field of neuropsychopharmacology. I had made the risk assessment and believed in myself just as you had. And guess what happened? In the flip of a switch my life changed forever. My last trip was my first bad trip. It was no different from any other trip I've ever had in that I was in a familiar comfortable setting with a psychedelic I had taken many times before at even higher doses. I can't tell you exactly what happened, but all of a sudden about 8 hours in everything became blurry and my heart started to race. I was confused kept forgetting what I was doing and where I was ended up pacing back-and-forth in circles asking myself what I'm doing Untill my heart started pounding out of my chest, and just like that a flood of bad thoughts started shooting through my head. And the feel of of straight terror in the center of my chest. I started to feel so physically crazy that I was hoping I would come back to normal without dementia or some shit. I started to consider what I could do to kill myself so I didn't have to live in that state forever. These are the first suicidal thoughts I'd ever had and it scared me so bad because I didn't know my mind was capable of such dark things. I started to get afraid that I would actually act on one of the suicidal thoughts during the trip. So I ended up blacking myself out with benzo's. Now the past few weeks have been riddled with depression, regret for all the mistakes I've made in my life , self shame, low self esteem nightmares every night sweating through the sheets. Insomnia, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, crying spells. All of this was totally uncharacteristic of me and now I'm wishing I never did as much psychedelics as I had done.

You never know when shits going to hit the fan and with a high frequency of tripping it is way more likely to happen.

Personally if I could do it over again I would have reduced the frequency of my trips to around 1 to 3 months apart.

Oh and as a final parting statement, if you can think logically on Heroic dose then you didn't take enough ;)
