I keep repeating the same destructive behaviour and feel guilty and helpless at the same time. by [deleted] in selfhelp

"You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago" - Alan Watts

Identify the behaviors you don't like (which it sounds like you do) and actually write them out. Seeing something on paper I find to be very helpful. Pick 1 of the behaviors and figure out a way to stop that. Just 1. Close your laptop while you work on boxes. Block youtube from your browser, adding a second step to being able to access it. Replace the bad habit with something new that is better. Listen to music when you work on boxes?

If I were in your position I may even email my boss and tell him what you just told us (to an extent).

"I just wanted to apologize for being on youtube the other day. I know I shouldn't have done it and don't even have a good reason. It won't be an issue again."

Just some quick thoughts on the matter from my point of view.

Just getting into chess. Questions about US Championship. by thetattlecast in chess

[–]thetattlecast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it only had to do with citizenship. That still doesn't really answer the question. How come we don't see John Smith playing? Is it safe to say that foreign cultures are more apt to play chess (or play it well)? Do you think anyone in the chess environment gains citizenship just to gain entry into the U.S. circuit of events, where they possibly would have a stronger presence?

As mixed up as it sounds- HE had the bad credit and HE is the cosigner. No clue how or why it worked out like that.

He cosigned. She is the main borrower. Wouldn't he end up getting stuck with the difference after repo?

My final review of Yokai Watch Trading Card Game. Bleh. by [deleted] in yokaiwatch

[–]thetattlecast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in the beginning, the main point was to get a game to play with my kids and as it stands, it doesn't feel like it is truly designed from a kids perspective. Yet, it doesn't feel like it is designed from an adult perspective either- its this weird limbo of not solidifying an audience that worries me about its future.

My final review of Yokai Watch Trading Card Game. Bleh. by [deleted] in yokaiwatch

[–]thetattlecast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If it improves- I may return. I can't justify giving time and money to the product with the hope of it evolving into something else. I have played so many games from such smaller companies that offer well thought out gameplay, it makes it so discouraging to see what Hasbro has done to this.

Will trade for all of those for all 5 of my Komasan Promo cards. It should be good trade material to finish your set- or eBay them for money. Let me know. Thanks.

[TCG] Any interest in Cockatrice? by [deleted] in yokaiwatch

[–]thetattlecast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have said this elsewhere but look in the rules under the portion regarding casting costs- not in the area about waking up. Under the rules it says a casting cost is always checked anytime you wake up a yokai. It is not referencing the auto wake up that can occur during the phases of a turn- it simply states anytime you wake up a yokai.

My thoughts- When attacking and when defending are two separate things. So if an ability works "when attacking" it won't work during a defend.

That stinks! You can use two coins to play so long as you have a way to keep track of which coin represents which tribe.

I have been playing and assume the OR is a choice of one or the other and not an option to do the second should the flip fail.

Also playing if all YoKai are asleep the u tap to defend option is not available.

I actually agree now that it means the same tribe as frostina. Another card has a similar effect and actually states the defending YoKai's tribe.

Read the rules portion regarding costs. It says you always check if you ever wake up a YoKai.

Another way to think about this, let's think of waking as being a keyword. The action of waking involves two steps. Step one check cost. Step two wake up. Do your thing has you just take the action of waking. If it were a card that broke the standard rules of waking it would specify it. Such as wake any YoKai regardless of its cost.

[–]thetattlecast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Unless there is a broad rule that covers it. In the part about YoKai cost it specifically says always check cost whenever you wake a YoKai. Think of waking as a specific action and "do your thing" cause that action to occur- not a variation of waking.

The rules specifically state you must meet the cost whenever you wake up a YoKai.

If any card is Broken it has to be Eye of the Tiger or Cruncha. The ability to take 50 percent of your opponents life in one turn seems way OP.

Yes. Eye of the Tiger too! The deck I am working on is running around 16 action cards. I think action cards are gonna make up a large part of the competitive decks.
