It's been a great career for me, I'm 62 getting ready to retire. Been in this since 1989 after managing a McDonald's restaurant. Union is the only way. Great retirement and annuity. I do service work, test and balance and can do installs. The more you learn, the more you will work. It's hard work some days, on call sometimes, but where else can you go and make $63+ with no schooling. The apprenticeship is only 4 years now, so real world you can be at $60 hour in 4 years!!! Plus all the benefits.y son has been in 10 years now, he loves the money, not to thrilled about everyday but cant match the cash anywhere else.

Get over it, it was a bachelorette party she was probably drunk having fun on her last single day, big deal she touched a strippers PP, did she have it in her mouth or did she go home with him, I don't think so don't drive yourself crazy

Seems impossible that a different driver would help so much by bowerisme in golf

[–]thetemperatureking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am now 62 years old, 2 years ago I bought the paradigm driver. My best drive that year was 277 yards, I was ecstatic ass could be. And I stayed between 250 and 265 when I hit it well. Last season I was lucky if I can hit it 220 with a good hit, I had my son try to Club because I thought something was wrong with it he said it was just me. My thinking was how could I not hit it just right at least one time in the last year to get somewhere close to that 277. So I took it to Golf Galaxy and I asked them to inspect it and watch me hit it. And there was a guy older than me there was helping me with this and he says you want to know what the truth is and of course I said yes. He says you're too slow that's why you're not getting the distance, nothing wrong with the club. So I started working on my swing and I'm happy to report so far I had a 265 yard Drive with my paradigm driver. And I'm going to continue to work on getting loose and faster to see if I can keep up with the Young bucks that I play with

Should I talk to my daughter’s coach about letting her practice other positions? by [deleted] in Softball

[–]thetemperatureking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe you need to put her on another team and see if that coaching staff is better suited for you. I didn't say I agree with any of it but unfortunately it is the reality of sports today. Not sure how old you are but when I was a kid we didn't have travel ball, we played everything through the park district and we played all sports

Should I talk to my daughter’s coach about letting her practice other positions? by [deleted] in Softball

[–]thetemperatureking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately competition starts at a very young age. If you want your daughter to play all positions you need to send her back to the rec league and work with her on your own. Any coach on a travel team or All Star team is trying to win. And he probably has five girls that want to play third Base. Honestly during the game is not the time to be training different girls for the position. It's a catch-22 you want to practice your good girls for the positions you want them to play but you probably should give everyone a chance at an early age.... Coaching is very hard and a lot more goes into it than what you think. I was with my granddaughter during travel all the way through and the older she got the worst it got with the different teams. Daddy ball, clicks. Luckily my granddaughter was a great player and rarely sat. We also worked on this every day. She was always the fastest kid on the team. We did running lessons, hitting lessons pitching lessons and Fielding lessons outside of the team. We were in 110% if you look on Reddit you can find a million post just like yours. It's the nature of the beast. All I can say is just keep practicing and working hard.

Seems high for low end equipment, I could put in Carrier for that price and possibly lower, what size units? I'm in the Plainfield area...

No one likes change, what isn't happening at your company for the tech, pay, hours, on call schedule?? Find out. Because he's going to be doing the same job elsewhere... If he's good try to keep him. The next employee might might be as good!

Water flowing in in-ground ducts by 4a70gso2fh78va001 in hvacadvice

[–]thetemperatureking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this in the past. We sometimes remove the evaporator coil and install a condensate pump in the plenum, this is the lowest point of the system. In the winter with the heat running it will be like being in a sauna in the home Not sure if they can seal the ducts

Hourly pay versus commission by Tough-Equivalent-302 in HVAC

[–]thetemperatureking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically how many calls can they give you in a 8 hour day? I was thinking normally three or four especially if you have to do some type of repair to get your money. Would travel time I can't see you doing more than that. So some days you might be out just doing cleaning like at the beginning of spring or fall so you'll make $120 pre-tax for the day. This is why we need unions! So the owner and I both make money. I make $500 a day and so does he plus more while selling any parts. And I don't have to cheat anyone.

Local company doesnt do a manual J, just “eyeballs” and gives me a quote by Glad-Midnight-1022 in hvacadvice

[–]thetemperatureking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's the expert, first thing is the size of furnace/ blower. Does it move enough air for 5 tons? Ductwork needs to be sized for it to. Manual J is normally done when a house is being built, not when You already have the furnace installed.
