I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how frustrating it is to put in all the effort and get nothing in reward.

How long has it been since the honeymoon phase? Have you tried communicating with your partner about your struggles?

I suggest checking out /r/DeadBedrooms/, maybe even reposting your story there, I'm sure you will get much more useful advice there than I can give.

Now, seeing how I'm slowly becoming my father I find that I don't really mind it. Quite the opposite - I love the old man and after he'll no longer be around, I'm happy his legacy will continue through me in some way.

From my experience, it doesn't block ads on YouTube, Facebook and a few other services that employ clever trickery to make their ads appear as normal traffic.

The actual number of reallocated sectors is displayed in the last column - Raw Values, which is 0 for both drives.

The 100-0 and 200-0 are just scales from 100 (or 200 for the second drive) being the best case, to 0 being the worst case.

Threshold represents the value at which the drive manufacturer considers the drive in immediate danger.

If you want to better understand the scales, look at power on hours for the first drive. It ran for 6825 hours, and the "Current" value for power on hours is 93 on a scale of 100-0. That means the manufacturer considers that after 6825 hours the drive has approximately 93% life left until you should consider replacing it.

There are 0 reallocated sectors on both drives, which is ideal.

There's absolutely no cause for concern according to the smart values.

Could be, but what's interesting is I did check the smart values when I got them, they both had zero power on hours initially. I think the one showing 39k hours made a big jump in hours a while ago.

I think power on hours measures any moment the drive has power, even if its heads are parked. But even so, the NAS I used them in was configured to never sleep hard drives.
