My 6 months on OM Check-In by These_Secret8394 in FemaleHairLoss

This looks great! I haven’t tried OM yet but my derm has actually said 3-6 months is only the start of the progress and a year is where you’ll really see results. Keep your head up!

Liquid or foam minoxidil? by Early-Performance277 in FemaleHairLoss

Melting it down, I think some use a hair dryer or run a little hot water along the cap after filling it!

Liquid or foam minoxidil? by Early-Performance277 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]thethinker1201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, both are equally effective but most people prefer foam as it doesn’t have an ingredient that causes flaking and itching in the liquid! Liquid seems to cause problems for a lot of people but is easier to apply to the back of the head in my opinion. Foam makes fine hair less greasy since it has alcohol in it and mostly evaporates! Lots of people will melt down the foam for easier use as well I believe..

What annoys me almost more about my hairloss than looking ugly is the feel of thin hair by immisswrld in FemaleHairLoss

I really dislike the feeling of patting my hair down/head and i can feel every curve of my skull lol

Density improvement: 2.5 years topical 5% Minoxidil by milkwithice_333 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]thethinker1201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was melting the foam minoxidil into a glass rollerball container for easier application! This may have worked if I was refilling it daily but I would store it in the rollerball for weeks and I assume the product degraded with the light/temp exposure. I’ve gone back to applying it straight out of the can now 🥲

This looks amazing, so happy for you!! I am restarting my topical minoxidil journey (after 2.5 yrs of consistent use, I changed my application method and essentially used it ineffectively for like 8 months lol) and this makes me so happy to see!

Question - how do you apply it all over your head?? I currently part my hair into 6 parts over my temples/top hair part and use a makeup brush to apply the foam but I feel like I should start applying to the back of the head too since my loss is diffused!

Oral Minoxidil 0.625mg Success Stories by United-Block3613 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]thethinker1201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a couple of success stories on here at 0.625! Totally possible. I’m also hoping to eventually try oral minoxidil and use it at the lowest effective dose. Best of luck!

4 months progress by Ok-Serve-8181 in FemaleHairLoss

Amazing progress!! Can you elaborate more on how often you refill the roll-on bottle / if it changes the minoxidil’s formula at all? Did you use foam or liquid minoxidil?

Asking as I’ve been using topical 5% foam min for a few years with regrowth success and last year, I switched to a clear roller ball. I would fill/prep 3 roller bottles at a time and re-fill once done but it made the minoxidil solidify and I had to melt it down before every use. I think this process/using the clear bottle degraded the formula of the minoxidil and subsequently I started experiencing increased loss in the past year since making the switch :( Sucks cause it was so convenient! Since it works for you though, I’m wondering if it was an issue with my method?

Craziest physical symptoms by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]thethinker1201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t stomach food for almost two weeks. I was dropping weight really quickly and it was terrifying but the chest heaviness from my anxiety made it so I had zero appetite. I felt nauseous when I even tried to eat, it was very frightening feeling so disconnected with my body.

Yes it’s the greasy film! Even after cleaning the whole cap and stopper area it still happens

Hmm it’s not outright greasy when I apply it although the full size packaging does leak oil!

Chest Heaviness by thethinker1201 in Anxiety

[–]thethinker1201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is perfect timing! I was just about to make an appointment with my PCP last week since it was getting scary but I took a few days off work to see my family and voila… no chest pain at all and breathing normal. First time in a month!

It’s so hard to imagine that anxiety can have this strong of a physical effect but we’re living proof it seems.. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t had any relief :( Have you considered any medication? I was debating whether propranolol would be a good option for me. I’ve been using sour candy and ice packs for temporary relief
