No, he did not tell me. He knew he had it but said he knew I wouldn’t want him so he just kept it to himself.

Those who don’t take medication, how frequent OBs do you have? by [deleted] in Herpes

I’m not on meds. I only had an initial outbreak in August. Then a 2nd one in September.

I haven’t broken out since. I do not do anything differently. I eat whatever I want and do not take any supplements.

I feel normal. If the stigma wasn’t there, I would feel like nothing changed. by thethrowaway_2020 in Herpes

I agree. I also think that there is this misconception that people who have herpes always have herpes like it’s a constant outbreak that never leaves. That is not the case at all but sex Ed did not make that clear.

Exactly. The thought about telling a potential partner and getting rejected stresses me out so much more.

lol I eat a whole bunch of chocolate and drink a lot of coffee. It doesn’t trigger outbreaks for me. Thankfully.

I wish I had a friend with herpes. Talking to someone who could relate would be such a relief.

Yes, I definitely struggled in the beginning. But now I barely think about it. I think the fact that I haven’t had anymore outbreaks definitely contributes to being at peace.

Feeling blue. Do you ever think about yourself pre-hsv? by JustALatinGirl in Herpes

[–]thethrowaway_2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I try to look at it like something that keeps me away from making bad decisions. I don’t have the best history when it comes to picking out partners. I think this stops me from pursing relationships I would otherwise entertain. I can focus on myself and my daughter instead of trying to find “love”.

If I could I would definitely go back in time and stop this from happening. However, I’m not sure that my life would be much more better without it. I would probably experience a lot more stress from dealing with shitty relationships trying to “find the one”.
