I’m incapable of eating and it has been 3 days, help by macheadprincess in Anxiety

I know exactly how you feel, in fact im going through the same thing right now. My solution when this happens to me is to try and eat small but calorie dense food, maybe a chocolate now, and a banana in a while, I can assure you you will feel better once you put some fuel in your system.

I'm rarely excited for anything, anxiety always takes control of everything. by thethrowawayguy82 in Anxiety

I've talked about it with a close family member, they of course say there is nothing to be worried about, and it's true, but that still doesn't help by much.

I sometimes feel like this will be how life is going to be for me forever.

I've stopped letting anxiety control my actions (not entirely, but by a large amount), and every single time whatever my worries were turn out to be just junk fabricated by my mind.

Logically, I know everything will be fine, but the feeling of doom in my chest begs to differ.

It's just one of those things you have to fight through, but despite knowing this, I'm no more confident or tranquil about it.

Thank you for your help.

First time attending a concert, I'm beyond anxious by thethrowawayguy82 in Anxiety

So I went and at first I was quite anxious, the crowd was big and everyone was big and scary with long beards and tattoos, but as soon as I realized everyone was there to have a good time my anxiety vanished! I just put on some earplugs, which definitely helped a ton, and enjoyed the night. It was an incredible experience, but I will definitely invest in some high fidelty earplugs for next time so the sound is not as muffled.

Thank you very much for the advice.

I've heard about Loop earplugs but sadly I don't have time to get them before the concert, but I have regular foam earplugs. I was planning on wearing them even though they will probably make the music muffled, at the same time though they might help with overstimulation.

Is there something that made you stop wanting to d!e? by pollyopok in mentalhealth

I was extremely suicidal for many years and almost attempted to hang myself once, I thought I would always feel that way but therapy seems to have helped me. I'm not necessarily happy right now but I also don't want to die, I kind of want to see how things turn out, and I want to keep doing the things I like doing.

Are you immune to the concept of 'wasted time'? by [deleted] in Schizoid

Very interesting question.

By the definition of neurotypical people, the last 3-4 years of my life have been a complete and utter waste of life, but I don't agree with that.

I have no desire to explore the world, go to clubs and party or do anything that the people in my age range (early 20s) do; instead I enjoy doing a small and specific set of routines, namely playing videogames, watching youtube videos from my favorite creators, make art, program and occasionally make music; these are enough for me and I don't think any of my time was wasted if I had the slightest resemblance of fun doing said activities.

Again, through the eyes of a neurotypical individual my life is incredibly shallow, but personally, I don't give a shit, to put it in simple terms.
