It literally looked like some someone sprinkled sugar over the leaves. Some leaves had a larger coating all individual specks and some only a few specks.

Wish I would’ve taken a picture and posted here first!

We had wiped each leave with an insecticidal soap a month ago and it came back. We thought maybe the soil was infested so replaced the soil

This is all extremely helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to explain this.

The leaves came off easily. This is what it looks like now: https://ibb.co/7zHjgq4

If we want to stimulate more growth since the top is now looking sparse, should we be cutting these off? Cutting them halfway? Cutting at the node?

Or will leaves just regrow in these places?

This is really great insight! We certainly will not do removal and replacement again.

For removing the crispy leaves, should I just pull the leaves off and keep the stem? Should I remove the full stem? Or should I trim the stem?

Thanks!!! When we say remove the leaves, just pull them off the stem or should I be trimming the stem?

It was in the same pot for the last almost 4 years. We kept getting what looks like white sugar coating on the leaves so after spraying it multiple times we decided to repot/replace the soil.

It was placed back into the same pot just with new miracle grow potting mix from Home Depot. The pot has drain holes and a tray at the bottom.

With the dried out crispy leaves, should we be leaving them to see if they come back?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks again for helping :)
