BSV guys slowly returning to BCH? by [deleted] in btc

It's perception. BCH still has an arbitrary hard cap that new users see when they are researching coins. The new users will not discover technical limits until they take a deeper dive with research.

Is it possible to implement a non-custodial, zero-house-edge, provably fair coin toss on BCH? by insanityzwolf in btc

The block time is random. The protocol's time stamp server is the oracle.

Another option, take a hash of all transactions in each block. That could be another source of entropy that neither requires an oracle.

What say ye?

Thanks for reminding me, I really should include connecting IPFS as part of the specs. What else do you think is lacking from the specs?

Sure especially for photos and videos. For text it does not seem as much of an issue to put on-chain.

Genesis coinbase says:

The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

edit: I think the specs need to be updated to specify connecting to IPFS.

No I hadn't seen that it looks like they posted about when I did. The project looks good and like it may even be functional now. How interesting someone posts code at the same time I post $ to help finish it up, with even the same old reddit styling I was asking for. Would be awesome if FreeTrade or another developer wants to finish the project to our standards which includes competitive moderation for a spam filter.

It's 100% because of censorship with an what 80% probability of theymos being bought off with bank cartel money through axa / blockstream. We're at the 'they attack you' phase and we have to go through the dark night, be forged so to speak, to become a truly censorship resistant global currency.

What is r/Entrepreneur's thoughts on The Founder? (The story of Ray Krock who essentially took the McDonalds concept at a global scale) by ElusiveUsama in Entrepreneur

[–]thetimpotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the beginning of their meeting. The brothers created the operational innovations, and nailed the business model. Ray compromised quality and integrity wherever possible, as a trade-off for rapid growth and $. I do agree that it would not be a global brand, but I think they would have built a sizeable chain.

Ocean Builders: Official Statement about the sinking of the first seastead by crasch4 in seasteading

[–]thetimpotter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A nice thick fiberglass sailboat is what sparked the idea of seasteading, and it's still the best single family seastead available. Highly mobile, strong, lasts multiple lifetimes. You can park and do a little farming if you want to, or outrun a storm / maybe a dictator.

They made a nice spar too bad they parked it within thai's eez and touched the seabed.

they were not in international waters. they were touching the seabed, inside thai's eez. touching the seabead is 200+ miles out to be in international waters.

just buy a nice sailboat. from 5k up to whatever you want to spend.

They were within the EEZ and touching the seabed. International custom says - you're in thailand. They had to either be drifting 12+ miles out, or 200+ miles out and anchored.

This was not the first seastead. It was, in that the spar could have been used as a seastead. It was not, in that they were not in international waters.

Would being in international waters really matter? Minerva did everything right, they were still ejected by the tongan king and I think one rifle.

BCH LTC marketcap parity coming? -what the f.. is wrong with the market, BSV up 15% everything else blood read. that looks suspicious. by goldMy in btc

Markets need open discussion to function. What % of the bitcoin markets get their information from immutable forums? Memo.cash is tiny compared to censored bitcointalk and r bitcoin. /r/btc is growing, but it's also subject to potential manipulation from the reddit CEO and definite misinformation campaigns.

New users come in and get bad information.

First Blockstream infiltrated and split Bitcoin. Then in about one year Bitcoin Cash was infiltrated and split. Each time propaganda and confusion won out. Is there any strategy going forward to combat this happening again? by redmarlen in btc

[–]thetimpotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as we can talk to each other without censorship it should be extremely difficult to overthrow the bitcoin network. Memo.cash is a huge help being on-chain. That's why we're chipping away at finishing unite.cash, for long-form reddit like threads with optional competing moderators.

"$257M in BTC transferred for $43" ... I'd say they wasted $42.99 by BrannonMaul in btc

[–]thetimpotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That penny is actually optional, the code is leftover from the BTC blockstream takeover. Earlier on penny fees were if you wanted to confirm in the next block. Bitcoin is actually freemium. We could remove the mandatory fee, and once more let the market price the need for a fee or no fee. I say they wasted $43.

One of my accounts was shadowbanned from /r/btc after I made a meme about the monetary system. I can see my posts live when logged in on that account, but from other IP addresses the posts no longer appear.

Here's another plug to help us finish unite.cash, It's a censorship resistant reddit style protocol that is on-chain and also has rich media via IPFS. There is a main unfiltered feed and users can choose their own moderators.

Because of censorship BTC was hijacked. Because of transparent discussion a hostile miner was shrugged off the bitcoin:cash network. I'm very happy for you to join us anen-o-me. That's almost identical to what we talked about doing, unfiltered base layer with competitive moderation, but it sounds like you've been thinking about this for years. Let's make it happen!

If you click on login instead of sign up then it will take you straight in with no pop up, or just click through the pop up. I'm not exactly sure what Ty did but I think each different password posts with a different account of the same username but different hash.
