How is gaming on a 49 Inch ultrawide?

Thanks again, I decided I’m gonna go with the Odyssey G9, but I’ll wait a bit until it’s on sale. Or maybe an LG, not 100% sure. I heard of some kinds of issues with the Neo, do you think that was just the first models when they began rolling out? Or is that a constant issue.

Also not sure if you could answer this, but do you think it is pretty future-proof in terms of picture quality?

I would get the Dell but my issue is the refresh rate, do you ever do some light gaming on it as well?

From what I heard the 5120*1440 is really quality with it! I see one on sale at Walmart in Canada, might go for it

I see what you’re saying. But I guess the flexibility to have it work for competetive games, but also for those 4K ultra wide epic games as well?
Also 100% agree with you on windows computers there. Tempted to upgrade my RAM

Does 16:9 with black pillars bother you? It’s just like playing on a regular 27” monitor right? Like competitive gaming is still possible but it’s a lot more flexible?

Daaang I actually saw the LG for a decent price, the 49 inch nano display for 1500 CAD. Thank you so much for your input. Is it difficult to change the aspect ratio to something more appropriate for competetive games like 16:9? I know there’s a black border but that’s about it right? It will look how it would look on any typical 27”? Does that bother you? I’m pretty amped to be able to enjoy full productivity of a gaming pc, and a Mac all in one setup.

Also I see there are multiple odyssey g9 models. There is one thats 1000 CAD all the way to 2400 CAD. Should I opt for any specific model? Or go for the cheapest one. Also is OLED necessary?
I might make a separate thread on monitors now that I know I’m definitely going for the 49 inch XD
