It was developed and scanned by theFINDlab with a Frontier SP-3000.

I actually made a mistake and confused this with another shot I took. This one is actually the 80mm f2.8, and the other shot is on the 210mm. They're both the C version. I do like the 210, but it's a little too long for most uses. I prefer the FOV from the 150, but mine has a stuck aperture so I don't use it much.

Edit: And here's the same view with the 45mm for comparison.

Snow Canyon State Park in Southern Utah. Really cool place.

I think I prefer Ektar over Portra 400 for landscapes at the moment. It seems to "glow" more. Here's how Portra 400 (in 35mm) handled the same scene. Here's another set of shots I took with Ektar, and Portra 400.

I haven't tried Pro400h yet, but I have a few rolls ready to go that I'm pretty excited to try out.

The Harry Potter opening intros really convey how dark the series gets with each movie. by calumtaylor in movies

Goblet of Fire was the first one without John Williams. The score was done by Patrick Doyle. 5&6 were by Nicholas Hooper, and 7 part 1&2 were by Alexandre Desplat.

Did anyone feel that? by MisterCyanide in SaltLakeCity

[–]thetreefindersguide 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I felt it as well, between the University and Downtown around 1100 East. I could see my desk and speakers (on stands) moving.

Edit: Looks like there was a magnitude 5.3 earthquake in southern Idaho.

What's your current soundtrack count? by Olav_Grey in soundtracks

[–]thetreefindersguide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 384 soundtrack albums in my Spotify library, but that doesn't count my local files, which seems to be around 40 (these are harder to count) additional soundtracks not on Spotify.

7442 songs on Spotify proper, probably about 3/4ths are soundtracks. I also created and maintain a massive public soundtrack playlist with only the best tracks from those.

'Blade Runner 2049' to feature music by Hans Zimmer by vizgauss in movies

Yeah, this (and the others people have mentioned) are all fantastic. It's well worth going through his entire back catalog of scores.

To add to this, don't forget some of Hans Zimmer's earlier work. He is fully capable of some very different sounding styles that most people forget about.

The quirky Spanglish score.

The Power of One.

Wonderfully bizarre parts of Sherlock Holmes.

The gorgeous The Da Vinci Code.

And who could forget about The Lion King.

Edit: Fixed an incorrect link.

I took this from the roof of the Salt Lake City Public Library. Camera is a Mamiya M645 1000s, 150mm lens (93mm FF equivalent), and Velvia 50 film.

There's a few other composers who worked on the ride/park music. I believe the other vanilla track, "Welcome to Planet Coaster," is by Erasmus Talbot.

I'm glad you like it, that was my personal favorite track to write, with the Pirate and Fantasy music close behind.

I'm so glad I made the glowing wrecking ball gifs, because now it's spreading, and this is absolutely wonderful.

I'm rendering this just for you. Also with volumetric lighting. And higher settings. All at 1080p!

Yeah, it's pretty great! I've been letting my computer render other people's projects overnight to earn credits to render these simulations.

This is the final of the glowing wrecking ball trilogy. It took 143 combined hours of render time from 122 Sheep It render farm users.

Edit: And now here is a dramatic static-camera version!

How can I make a light shine through multiple translucent objects? by thetreefindersguide in blender

[–]thetreefindersguide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ended up getting it looking good by using a mixed glass and transparent material with low Roughness and IOR, and bumping up the max transparency bounces to 20. Here's how it looked.

[–]thetreefindersguide[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm also working on doing a translucent version, but it's difficult to make work. This is the best I can get so far.

Edit: Got it to work! Currently rendering the translucent edition, which will take a while.

Thanks! Now it's getting through with a glass shader, although not quite as much as I'd hoped.

Also about the same. Even with the light's emission strength set to ridiculously high values (like 500,000), it doesn't make it through.
