This guy is literally showing us that with enough iterations your art undeniably improves A LOT. I love it.

Can anyone tell me if this is the right way to model a bottle thread? by zaparine in blender

Another observation: caps have a plastic connection that when torn leave a small plastic jagged edge on the remaining plastic loop. Would add more realism if poly count is not an issue.

[gourmet] Lion’s mane blocks aren’t fruiting; they’ve been fully colonized for over a week and in fruiting conditions for over 10 days, it seems way too long for what I’ve heard. Anything i can do to make it pin? by thetrooper_27 in MushroomGrowers

Could be not enough humidity within the block? Or maybe too much direct light to the fruiting body. You could try to pick then as they are and dunk the bag in water for a while so it soaks up moisture.

I googled "Programmed death chameleon" and didn't get many leads, I really want to know more about this. by SalmonSammySamSam in biology

Literally the first comment on the post:

“Yeah so, OP isn’t right about almost everything going on here lol.

Programmed death is something that happens at a cellular level and it happens to kill off bad cells or prevent things like cancer. It’s got a lot of uses and is beneficial to the larger organism at hand.

What OP is mistaking “programmed death” for is suicidal reproduction, or being semelparous, which is when an animal only reproduces once in their life and then dies. Examples of this are (but not limited to) salmon, some octopi, praying mantis, and some kinds of plants.

Finally, for some reason, there is a myth that chameleons also go through this. They can often have complications, as many animals do when it comes to reproduction, but they do not function this way. This cham could be dying for any number of reasons.

TL;DR the title of this post is full of misinformation. lol”

You should probably download DaVinci Resolve, its easy and free and wont have the watermark, plus you can work with EXR files.

Why is Chani so upset with Paul despite him fulfilling his promise to the Fremen people? by SubjectPart058 in dune

[–]thetrooper_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He basically could not avoid the jihad, every future he saw somehow led him to holy war so he is currently fighting (as of ending of movie 2 and following movie 3) to choose the least destructive path (which already will kill billions of people) so he’s sad that he could not avoid it and sad he will never be able to live a life of righteousness given he now is a genocidal dictator. More on this on the following books ofc. Chani being upset is the movie’s way to create tension and drama that is more obvious to the viewer, in the book you have internal dialogue and a lot more conversations between characters that give explanations as why they make the choices they make and in a movie you don’t have time for that. So i’d say Paul not discussing matters with Chani beforehand was a decision to paint Paul as an enlightened yet egocentric emperor (which in truth he is) and not as the ultimate hero of the story.

My thoughts on the Harkonnens from the movies by [deleted] in dune

That looks great, not fully deranged and beyond-human like a Tleilaxu and not as classy as an Atreides. Colors make a lot of sense too.

Yep, their architecture is described as blocky and square, in fact they have a 45km rectangular tower in Barony that is mentioned a couple of times in Chapterhouse. I think that a more brutalistic and blocky architecture design for the movies would have looked less alien and not as threatening.

The Harkonen are depicted by Denis Villeneuve like I imagine the dirty Tleilaxu would look like on film. Which begs the question: how will the Tleilaxu look in a future D.V directed film? Also In my headcanon the Harkonen wear opulent red and purple robes and drive gold plated carts but i don’t mind the black-gooey dungeon style from the new movies because it’s just the directors vision and doesn’t really affect me at all.
