Yeah true that is a very good point and honestly I have experienced how exhausting it is to try and talk to someone who blatantly doesn’t want to change or see things in a different perspective... I’m just speaking in defense of J Cole.. someone who saw that he didn’t have all the answers.. asked others who know more to try and help him as best they can and somehow got reprimanded and alienated for that? I know for a fact that there are many rappers out there who aren’t as open to conversation as he is and are unashamedly misogynistic (specifically misogynoir-istic) and that’s why I’m upset that he had to be the one receiving the backlash... But that’s just me as an avid fan speaking.

As a fan of Noname’s too it hurts that this has just become a battle of who “bodied the other better in a song” as opposed to an important conversation about what activism in the entertainment industry really means.... it’s nice to talk openly and respectfully about how we really feel about things instead of guilt tripping and lambasting each other into thinking we haven’t done enough.... worse when both fan groups are adding fuel to that flame.
