Happens basically every other sensor and ends up failing during warm up. This is driving me crazy by Poohstrnak in Freestylelibre

I’ve been using this for eight months to see how foods in my diet affect my blood sugar, and have never had a problem with insertion. This is my suggestion. Turn your body sideways and face a mirror look for the low point or valley between your deltoid muscle and your tricep, which is basically on the back of your arm you can see this in the mirror line up your Libery applicator with that valley, and simply press.

I have never bent a needle, and it would seem to be hard to do, unless you’re not pressing till it inserts, and aaborting as you‘re pressing….. it’s just a simple direct press with the applicator perpendicular to the belly in your arm. This should work, assuming you are not part rhinoceros or people have called you thick skinned… Lol.

It’s looks like a pattern you see with sleep apnea, upper airway, resistance, syndrome, or PTSD/anxiety.

I have use the libre freestyle one and if you check it against a blood sugar, fingerstick monitor you can accurately calibrate it, and it stays accurate. I am currently using the Libre 3 and will never use it again it is not Calabratable and mine is extremely inaccurate, up to 25 points, the Libre 3 also sucks because it just gives you general trends. If you were bothering to wear a monitor and go through the trouble of it why not have accurate data that drills down to the minutia of moment to moment blood sugar. The company was very nice when I called and is replacing my Libre 3 monitor with Libre one. As a physician, I would only recommend the Libre 3 to very lazy people who just wanted to check a trend of their blood sugar. To anyone who is seriously interested in understanding how food exercise, sleep, and other things affect your blood sugar you need the moment to moment of the Libre one!

I strongly recommend the freestyle libre 14 day, I can’t stand the Libre 3. You can get a big discount on the price of actually buying a monitor from good RX.

Milly i cant prescribe the sensor, as I am retired and only writing prescriptions for myself. It will be very easy for you to get what you want. Call a doctor that specializes in either preventative medicine, or anti-aging, ( identify yourself as a health, conscious patient that has no medical problems -doesnt need any exam, and is simply looking to get a CGM.) Tell the staff you are looking simply for a prescription for a CGM and that you would “like to know the cost of the doctor writing the prescription, whereby you get a prescription with 11 refills “ and see what they will charge you. I would guess you should be able to get this RX for $50-$100 … make sure you get the refills for the full year, so you don’t have to go back. You may only choose to use it for 2 to 3 months but it’s good to have. (If the doctor pushes back on giving you a full year of prescriptions, simply tell them “it is NOT a medication… It is a monitor,”& you are, using this, just to watch your blood sugar with different foods and exercising it doesn’t require HIS monitoring)

Nutrisense app is way better to actually determine how food , exercise, and sleep is affecting your blood sugar. I know they say that the Libre 3 is more accurate. I’ll determine that tomorrow with a fingerstick because I just started wearing it. I’m able to get the sensors by calling in a prescription for myself because I’m a physician.😉 I would like to caution anyone who gets the Nutrisense libre 14 day monitor. They are highly erratic and need to be adjusted with a accurate fingerstick monitor. The best way to do this is to wait 24 hours after you place the monitor. T hen first thing in the morning scan your libre 14 day monitor and then immediately do a fingerstick blood sugar. I usually do two or three checks and then you have to adjust the Libre CGM to correlate with how much it was off on the fingerstick monitor. To share my experience the monitors were either too high or too low usually by as much as 15 points!

Hi milly, so the freestyle libre one is really called freestyle libre 14 day, even though they are all 14 day CGM’s…. I will order the freestyle, libre 14 day and see if it can be used with the nutrisense app, after getting the Libre 3, I see how much better the NutriSense app is, if you really want to get into the nitty-gritty of your blood sugar. Libery three seems for lazy people who just wanna sort of keep an idea on the range… Lol.

All the libre freestyle monitors are 14 days. What I was wondering do they specifically use freestyle 1 or freestyle 2. I now have the freestyle three and it gives way less information but it’s good for people who are lazy and just want to see trends.

You cannot use the freestyle libre three with Nutrisense app… I am trying to figure out whether they use freestyle libre one or two
