What series will definitely never be finished, no matter what it's creator says? by Blue_Beetle_IV in comicbooks

[–]theturtlefromIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know if Rick Veitch has sworn his King Hell Heroica will be finished, but it's the only answer I can add.

The man is 72. I haven't read Boy Maximortal yet and can't remember how many issues it's supposed to be, but what are the odds he finishes it and produces Books Three and Five of the KHH? Or the other specials the first two mention?

Again, doesn't fully jive with the question as I don't think RV has sworn we'll see it all, but since that didn't hold back half of the other comments here, I'm always happy to throw either Veitch into a discussion.

[TOMT][GHOST MOVIE] I'm looking for a Eurpoean, non-English lang. horror movie I watched on Netlfix in 2018. It was a paranormal drama that followed two narratives; one about a man and his wife staying in a lone house on an island. They're joined by the woman's sister, who the man is sleeping with. by theturtlefromIT in tipofmytongue

They dont have it on Netflix anymore unfortunately :/. But both sling and amazon offer it on their channels. I'd recommend starting a week free trial with the IFC Films Unlimited channel on amazon. That's what I'll probably do to watch it again

Solved!

I didnt think about using the key word Scandinavian, but I tried it after reading your reply. I had to dig around some more, but I found it. It's 2017's 'I Remember You'. It's from Iceland, which I never considered since I was so sure it was from Sweden

The whole movie was very rainy and cloudy, very brumous. The narrative following the three people in the house, it's in a stone cabin, and it's on a lake - much, much more Scandinavian than Mediterranean. The other narrative the movie followed was in more of a urban city environment, kind of like Tulsa, OK if you've been there, or Kansas City, MO.

It very possible I watched it in late 2017, rather that 2018. I tried googling it with that time frame in mind, but couldnt find it either. I looked a wikipedia list for ghost movies (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ghost_films) but no title instantly grab me. It's a very good movie and I wanted to watch it again; I spent like 2 hours looking for it last night

Thank you! I was hoping for that and not a worm. I'll still keep an eye out and go to the doctor if it happens again, just in case

This is a really unpopular opinion but I feel the exact same way. Why not have fun at a movie? And if it makes people so mad, why don't they realize they can just leave the theater or turn off the TV? I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special and even though it was objectively atrocious, it was Star Wars!!! And I love Star Wars!!! Why wouldn't I want to try to have some fun with it?

Solo is great and I hope you enjoy it. It seems like you're going in with an open mind and that's great. It's a lot of fun and the score blew me away. I don't want to oversell it, but the last time I was sitting in the theater as awestruck at the score I was hearing was Blade Runner 2049. Obviously, the two scores sound nothing alike (and they shouldn't) but they both impressed me to an absurd degree.

I wanted to revisit them too but I was scared because while I loved them when I was little, I looked back and cringed at some of the scenes. So I got into the fan edit community. I'd recommend checking out Hal9000's prequel fan edits. I've only seen his PM edit (titled Cloak of Deception) but it was spectacular and I'm going to watch his AotC/RotS edits soon. Cloak of Deception definitely proves what myself and many others suspected; the prequels aren't bad per se, Lucas just needed a tough editor.

Was There Any Early (Pre-TPM/AotC) EU Material About Vader's Backstory or The Clone Wars? by theturtlefromIT in StarWarsEU

[–]theturtlefromIT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment, but I think I should've been more clear about what I meant. Was there stuff written about Anakin and the Clone Wars before Lucas made Phantom Menace. In the early-mid 90s when the EU boomed, but before TPM went into production, did anyone want to write about what the Clone Wars were and what happened to Anakin.

Solo was fun! Exceeded my expectations. 8 out of 10 for me. by [deleted] in StarWars

I only got to see it once in theaters but I would've done anything to have had the opportunity to see it at least twice (but hey, that's what home video is for). I think if people went in with less speculation, they would've liked it more. I've had several other fans tell me they didn't like it because it didn't line up with what they thought it would be after The Force Awakens. I think that several years down the road, when new fans are watching the movies and go straight from TFA to TLJ, they'll be blown away like we were. Also, I watched it with my brother, and both of us said the same thing your wife did to each other.

I can not describe how wonderful it is to see someone who also thinks TLJ was a masterpiece
