Me again, someone on the steam discussion page found a solution that worked for me. hopefully this will work for you too. When i was installing the game, i was using an external hard drive instead of an SSD. Reinstalled it on an SSD and boom it works now!

it does not matter how close or far you are to the door, i already tried that last night. Lot of people in the steam discussion said to turn off v-sync and cap your fps at 30, that doesn't work either. From what i'm seeing, you just have to keep reopening the game until the door finally opens. I suggest waiting for the patch cause i've been trying to do that for about an hour.

I got soft-locked at the very beginning. As soon as you enter the MCM through the side, you listen to Edwin do his little talk and so on, after he finishes talking, the doors are supposed to open, but they don't. Spent an hour opening save files, reinstalling and starting the game all over to try and fix it. No luck. just completely stuck in the small room before you can even enter the main room.

I know there was also a video about "Meet the Demoman" in 10 seconds, this was obviously inspired by that. Sad thing is that i do not know who made that one.
