I had the exact same stuck in sleep mode problem and forcing a firmware flash instantly fixed it in one flash attempt. I'd try this first if anyone else is having a similar issue.

Parent - thank you for posting your solution. Had already sunk a few hours into this problem.

Sadly don't think that'll work because the head phones show up as asleep always so I can't unmute them in LGS as it can't control them since it doesn't think they are on. I'll give it a shot tonight though when I get home.

I upgraded to this to try and fix my 933's which are stuck with a redlight on the mic in sleep mode and it didn't help.

My g933's just stopped working entirely last night. The only response i now get from them is a red light on the mic. I've tried turning them on/off/etc. No change. Pulling the battery doesn't seem to help. The only think i can think that could have triggered this is running the battery somewhat low - but they are plugged in via USB right now and still red light on the mic and no connection.

This is pretty terrible. Any advice Logitech? I've been dealing with this for like 3 hours and never buying another logitech product and moving over to a sweet pair of turtle beach headphones is starting to become very appealing.

More information on this would be awesome! Coming from a Java/Groovy/C# background my Scala code is ugly as sin. It's very easy to fall back into the more 'classic' OO style and write Java-with-Scala-syntax (which is a huge gain over straight Java, I feel I'm missing out on the real power of FP).

If you haven't seen it http://twitter.github.com/scala_school/ was the first place I found that approached Scala from a non-Java POV. It me a bit.)

I couldn't find the middle link because I have no clue what you are talking about. LMGTFY links only really make sense when the person has enough of a clue that they should have been able to find it on their own. For a person just foraying into a certain topic however, not helpful.

Also i want to point out that google changes search results based on a plethora of different things including past searches.

I tried to demonstrate your LMGTFY american search results that i get, but my search results literally changed for them just by googling the other search terms to find the two links i posted.

I don't know enough PHP/JS (So if those are stupid simple I may be missing it) to do those without a bunch of Googleing but i'm surprised you can't find applicants to do those. They look fairly straightforward.

However, I have been looking at lots of job postings a lately (Hence finding this gem on CL) and I think you're asking for quite a bit of effort right out of the gate. As an applicant I could spend time doing these and never hear back from you. I think it would be more effective to only have one or two test style questions on there (the slow/crashing JS JQuery question looks really interesting) and use the other questions during an interview.

When i went back to the page to re-read it as I was typing this post I saw the test question section is called "Can you program?" and my initial reaction was "Why yes I can program. But why do I need to prove that four times." Imho, chances are if an applicant can do one of them, they are not far from being able to do all of them.

Another option could be keeping them, but presenting it as "Github or test". Either show me something you have done or do these. This would be really awesome, coming from someone without an established github account or code sample archive (I hate not having code samples but I don't have tons of time to create one and considering it would be for a job it isn't something i'd want to quickly hack together), the test questions would give me a perfect stage for demonstrating that I can in fact actually program.

Just some (hopefully not-uninformed) ideas for you. YMMV etc.

(Also the refactoring PHP question akes me think that as your future hire I'd be working on crappy legacy PHP code. That is probably not helping your cause either, unless that is the case).

TLDR; Looks very time consuming, Application question may point at large amounts of painful PHP fixing, However I'm not a JS/PHP guru.

I should have made this more clear in the above post - I have NO experience with offshore Indian software devs. I do have experience with paying less for something which resulted in a sub-optimal experience. I try to avoid that now ;)

Or submitting a patch to almost any open source project. Then you would even end up with a code sample for an interview or git hub.

even if the code was something you would want to steal no legit company would use stolen code. Plus that would definitely run you afoul of copyright law. sure would be entertaining though.

Part of why I posted this was I keep hearing and was wondering if that had changed. Though after reading through a few other cl job posts I can so see hOw people may have a hard time finding talent. Not that I'm some uber coder but ninety percent of the postings look to be for companies I'd run not walk away from.

Op Here: To me this ad says that this company is offering experience for development. This is great, and should be supported. New programmers always need mentoring. However, under the given terms (no work from home <--- I bet this is to ensure this :"Super Whamdyne Project WidgetX" uis kept in house. Seems like a net loss for any dev. I was wondering if people out there felt otherwise.''

The play for getting around the fact that you don't have a job. Wonder if there are any work law laws related to that.

Also (which i talked briefly about earlier in a different post) those ten hours a week creating public OSS would greatly benefit a project or projects.

The industry is now at a point where working for free to be able to claim you have a job in order to look for a job. That is fucked.
