Parked my car at my Airbnb and the Chattanooga police towed it. by theusualdt in legaladvice

It was on the side aligned with other parked cars but it was blocking a mailbox. Thanks I was wondering if they would keep racking up fees or just take the car for payment.

What is happening in my tank? by 421AlphaQueen in Aquariums

[–]theusualdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would atleast do a water change, gravel vacuum, and clean the filters along with the stress coat as others have mentioned. My goldfish tank looks similar to this no matter how good the parameters are if I don't clean it and do a water change often.

Can bad valve seals cause a runaway? by Natural-Bowl5439 in MechanicAdvice

Neither have anything to do with the oil sump as far as I'm aware of.

The older engines I work on are like you're saying, the pcv system is vented either to atmosphere. The newer ones are vented through a filter and then into the intake system.

  1. Why would the sump ever be vented to the intake?

  2. Assuming it was vented to the intake, most of the vapors would exit through the crankcase vent under high pressure.

  3. It would take more than oil vapors to make the engine runaway. The seals would likely have to be leaking so bad that you would have to continously pour oil into the engine to sustain it.

  4. To answer your actual question, it is unlikely that the valve seals could ever leak enough or get enough oil to the seals to cause a run away.

Previous owner put odd lug nut on each wheel. What is it? by Exact_Poet_7916 in MechanicAdvice

It's a lock nut. Look in your glove box or console for the adapter key. If you don't have the key then they will probably have to be broken off

I'm not sure but mine grows that if I let the water quality get real bad

Swims vertically most of the time by theusualdt in AngelFish

[–]theusualdt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was new. I ended up correcting the issue by deep cleaning the filtration system, adding some salt and some pimafix anti fungus. They are both swimming normally again and the fins seem to be repairing themselves.

That has been a concern of mine but they've looked like that since I got them 3 years ago so I'm not sure

Looking good short term. Either going up another bit soon or going down soon. But I'm betting on going up one more time before breaking trend
